Any fans on here??
I've been for a long time now and he always baffled me with his tricks.
Years ago when I saw the his levitation and "hand through the window trick" for example, I was so amazed but in the back of my head I always thought everyone would be in on it just to justify what he did.
After years of not following him I just saw the intro of his new show Real or Magic and I really can't figure out how he does all of this. His endurance tricks are explainable in a way but the icepricker through the hand trick where you actually see the flesh being pushed on the other side of his hand and in the end see the tip come through and on top of that when pulling back without a hole nor blood in his hands is just mindblowing. The reaction of all the (famous) people is priceless!
This guy bends the universe... he must be from another planet.

I'm pretty upset that I missed this on TV last night. I had two reminders set in my phone for 3 weeks because I was a big Blaine-magic fan back in the day. I had an emergency and had to miss it though

I wonder if it will air again, or if it's available online? I don't watch TV much at all and don't have internet at home (crazy, I know)

The main thing that comes to mind when I see his name is my old friend's impression of him, where he'd just yell "I'M DAVID BLAINE" multiple times.

I just remember the thing he did in the box over the Thames and how Londoners just try to f*ck with him during it...
Takes magic down a notch if you mock it and knock it from the outset...

Probably the greatest magician ever to live. I've seen a few of his trick explanations and some are extremely complicated, that could very easily fail if not execute flawlessly. Of the non magician stuff, he's a great endurance artist. Those things take a lot of practice.

I personally don't like his endurance acts that much but I admire his control over his own body and mind. He's able to meditate itself to a level I've never seen. The combination of him being an endurance artist and magician makes him that special because I believe that a lot of his tricks have to do with his ability to terminate his feeling. The iceprick trick, prick through arm, the glass eating, the water drinking, the string through nose and eye are all trick of which I think he is able to do because he controls his body beyond an extend we can only dream of.
Even if he uses paid actors in his clips, the tricks itself still are beyond my understanding. The trick where he removes 2 teeth from the lady (see video below) might be false but how did they suddenly get back in her mouth in an instant?
Cool, someone put one of my favorite The Orb songs under this video

The box-over-the-Thames thing was hilarious. Personal highlight was when someone used a radio controlled helicopter to dangle a burger in front of him.

26 seconds. Cut right there.
He's done some cool tricks but nobody can do that, period. Just editing.
Also if you notice before that - the trajectory that the ring falls at is diagonal, which likely means it might have been on some sort of wire. Also when they cut his hands are in totally different positions.
Kinda disappointed they would stoop so low for this one.

DB is a personal fav.
a close buddy shoots most of his stunts. truth is next to his slight of hand card work (which he is a supreme master at) the other stuff is all just hardcore shit that he prepares relentlessly for. some of it is also just crazy - when they shot the intro for one of his specials he was really out of the cage in the open ocean with the great whites. we had our masks and cameras and gear on and were standing on top of the shark cage - that was scary enough - but he was just out there floating with nothing under him (thats where they attack from) holding his breath, with no mask and his back to them. its real - just crazy.
all seriousness aside - i love this series of youtube videos:
