Did a quick search, didn't see a thread on this. Anyone else a big fan of coffee?

How do you like it? Favorite blend? Favorite coffee shop?

Inspired by Ghostly International coming out with their own roast. Which I want to badly try.

I prefer mine dark and black like my soul. No cream. No sugar. But an occasional flavored latte is great.

strong black with sugar. I have various equipment for making it depending how the mood takes me

this is what's been in my cup recently.

Milk no sugar, Colombian preferably.

I'm more of a tea person though to be fair; can't drink coffee after 4pm, keeps me up.

Can't wake up without a couple of cups of fresh ground coffee. I keep beans in my freezer and grind it every morning. Two unrefined sugars. Thanks.

Don't really drink it out much unless I'm waiting for someone. It's not the same, over-roasted so you pretty much have to get it with all the syrupy shite in it to make it drinkable, which makes it more like a coffee milkshake.

Strong, little touch of milk, no sugar, readily available in large quantities.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I do like a good coffee.

I try to avoid chains where possible, simply because there are so many good independents in Edinburgh. If anyone is ever here and looking for a coffee try Rocksalt or The Haven (also blessed with very good looking staff...) in Leith, Project Coffee in Bruntsfield or Hula in the Grassmarket.

Doesn't one of the new users who popped up around the TH promo campaign & went to the playback at Lake Dolores run his own coffee business?

Any roast, any time, though I really like the Kona blend at my local cafe. No cream, no sugar. Never.

Drink is slow and watch the time pass. Have a cigarette or two. Life can wait an hour.

Coffee is the reason I get to class on time. I just get the whatever blend for 99 cents at my local gas station and put way too much creamer in it and pretend it's a latte. Such is high school life

Agreed. Just bought a coffee grinder and that has noticeably improved the taste a bit. My good friend who works as a roaster has some crazy contraption involving a couple of glass globes and what looks like a bunsen burner and some kind of distillation setup going on for his coffee. He keeps it in a padded case on him at all times. A bit obsessive, but I've never tried it. I still don't know exactly what kinda "coffee maker" it is..

I believe that sort of contraption made an appearance in Breaking Bad around season 3 or 4.

Lighter roasts (Italian just tastes almost charred to me..), maybe some cream, but great without too.

It's around finals time, so I'm pretty much 97% coffee right now.

If he does, then Boards of Canada should meet me at this specific business because of the following reasons:
A.) I've been asking them to join me for a cup o'joe since the TH promo campaign took off.
B.) Support fellow Boards of Canada fans business endeavors

I won't give up until coffee with the Sandison brothers is a reality.

Starbucks is the devil, but they do make some mean lattes. I'm guilty of being a loyal customer to them, but the second I see an independent alternative that's in my grasp, I take it. There's a great place in Market Square in Pittsburgh where you can buy whole coffees called Nicholas Coffee & Tea. I just purchased an Apple Cinnamon roast and need to have it with a splash of milk. There flavors are here!

Cafes are a huge creativity booster too. Has anyone tried this out? http://coffitivity.com/ Of course, this is like the virtual instrument version of a real synthesizer, but it's pretty need and does help you to stay focused! (Fun fact: Coffitivity just loaded while some of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works volume 2 is playing in the background and it sounds lovely!)

Been drinking a flat white a lot recently. Lovely coffee.

i like bulletproof coffe the most cuz i like getting the benefits of the coffe without the negative effects of the mold
but right now im trying KICKING HORSE pacific pipeline its friggin delicious

my recipe is i use a french press and then make a pot of 90% lindt choclate squares and some milk and some coconut butter ghee and some coconut sugar and it forms into a syrupy substance which i mix the coffee with it tastes GREAT. then i make milk froth for the top

I drink it wherever/however I can get it. I work in a factory, and the coffee mostly tastes like shit but we all drink it for the caffeine. not much time to sit and add things to it. even drink it cold sometimes.

how many cups does everyone drink per day (standard 8 oz mugs, not what your coffeemaker has labeled. that's way off)

^ just the one usually. Or at the weekend I'll make a cafetiere up and get through that over the morning.

Went through a phase a couple of years ago of drinking a shed-load all the time. Just before baby#1 was born I gave up drinking booze & ended up replacing it with coffee, but ended up drinking A LOT more coffee than I ever did booze!

I seem to recall reading extreme amounts of strong coffee is really bad for you. Though small amounts is great for you. I usually can only drink 2 max during the day. Nothing after 4 o clock, otherwise I am awake all night with tiny pupils.

My place of employment has a horrible instant coffee machine. I'm not even sure what the brewing process is for it, but it makes the coffee taste really bad. We all call it "tar coffee" and no amount of cream or sugar can save it.

The studies I've read suggest the more coffee you drink, the better for you? I haven't read anything about negative effects unless you drink close to the amount of caffeine to kill you, which is a lot. What have you read?

I drink anywhere from 4-8 cups marked on the actual coffee pot. I'm not sure what this translates to in real life.
