really trippy. i love it, but i wouldn't want it in the final mix. it would do better as a separate song, wouldn't want to sway away from the ambient.

I often wondered whether the original remix was actually commisioned by BoC, or done first and they just liked it enough to put it out.
It seems to have been remixed without the use/need of any of the track stems which most remixers require.

I dunno about that. I think there's stuff in his remixes that's not (hearable) in the original. There's what sounds like a harmonica in Bit 2 and the full remix, the reversed strings in the full remix aren't in the original (I think)... I have a feeling in the original the reverse delayed swooshing noise that almost resolves just as the strumming guitar comes in is made out of a part that ended up in the remix or Bit 1...
So I think he has stems, or at least outtakes. If not, if he's made all that from the released material then I literally have no idea how.

I always assumed it was a reciprocation for BoC remixing Dead Dogs Two.

I think he got some extra little tid bits to use just because he was remixing it.
