About six months after the release of "The Campfire Headphase" I started seeing Jodie. After one night out in particular back at mine we were doing what new couples do best.. I had TCH on in the background. I remember thinking to myself as "Satellite Anthem Icarus" was on this for me was the perfect moment to a perfect evening, I said to myself this isn't going to last forever...and of course it didn't.

I haven't felt the same about anybody since.

In a beautifull place out into the country

I listened to this track while driving (parents) to France looking at the landscapes.

my last good moment was last week sitting on some rocks overlooking the sea with friends, listening to "Pete Standing Alone" and drinking jägermeister!
really was a very nice moment, i enjoy it very much..

smoking years ago with some of my best buds (pun intended), listening to left side drive the good ol' days before mortgages and bills and 40+ hr work weeks

After a few jagerbombs I'd probably start body popping to it.

Spring of Geogaddi. College. Camero with the t-tops off and a nice speaker system with a big Bose in the back. The whole album on constant play, but specifically Dawn Chorus as I drove on the freeway and back country roads and around campus- yeah that's right- bumpin' the BoC.

in summer 2004 - wasn't up to anything special though - just working for a garden centre close by and went into malahide castle grounds to have my lunch. i remember the combination of the calm weather and the music. you know it makes sense.

Probably 7 or 8 years ago

It was an overcast day at the end of summer, one of the first fall ish feeling days. A friend and I were laying in this sod (grass) field just chillin. The grass was so vibrantly green, the sky so menacingly gray, the air so perfectly cool & crisp and even a hint of that fall smell with a gently breeze.

I dont know what did it. Ataronchronon was no longer a song at that point in time. It was a feeling, it was a moment, It was everything.

Every time I hear it now there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop myself from being transported back to that moment in time, and I wouldn't have it any other way

About a year ago, I was watching a youtube video and it had the best song I have ever listened to in it: 5:9:78. It changed my life, and I won't ever forget that video... Since then I've loved Boards of Canada and made reproductions of many of their first albums. The audio from the youtube video was removed later though. Apparently putting 5:9:78 in there caused legal issues.

When the guy live streaming the Live Album Transmission kept filming after White Cyclosa, briefly getting to hear how fucked up Jacquard Causeway was going to be. I don't know if I have ever been more excited in my life.

good memories, people!

Walking through my friends garden to a small forest at the bottom of it, the moon was really bright, illuminating the long grass and trees. Incandescent. Kid for Today playing, then Olson, then EYDIAB, finished with Echus. Magic.

Kid for Today - at my grandma's house for the last Christmas we spent as a family before we all moved far apart (too far to realistically stay in touch). Around dusk just before everyone left, I glanced out the window to see the schoolyard we used to play at as kids and it finally struck me that everyone was in the right place and it would never be that way again

1999...had listened to BoC a fair bit...but thought it was puss. i was all into Ae, [inucunaula, amber] and MBM.
but one night waiting for my laundry to dry...pete standing alone came on the speakers. and i noticed this little off kilter kick sample. that little sample blew my mind....how did i never hear that before. this music is sick. is there more shit like this in there?.....

that was it. hooked ever since.

For the past two years I've been moving my life down to San Francisco. TH came out about halfway through this process and I was traveling up and down the coast a lot by train. Some incredible vistas to be had traveling by train: from forested hills, to deserted wastes. I restrained myself to only listen to TH during trips like these for the first while and I've now formed indelible memories around the album. A particularly hilarious memory occurred during 'White Cyclosa' as we were passing an enormous herd of cattle... The cows seemed subliminally sinister somehow, like they were all staring in my direction. I suddenly found myself wondering what their intentions were...
The San Francisco skyline featuring on the cover art is just one of those wonderful coincidences.

I have a great memory about my first BoC song, and also the place i heard it.

I am a magician as a hobby and there are two very talented guys in California, they make cool tutorials and i regurally checked their website. One day i noticed that they also had a MySpace page (it was cool at the time ), so i headed happily there to befriend "The Legends".

To make the story short, they had a music player on their site and the playlist always started with

I instantly fell in love with that song, bookmarked a version of it on youtube. There are 2 more funny things about this song.

1. It was the first song i heard from BoC but i didnt actually looked it up, so it just got "dusty" in my bookmarks, where i listened it occasionally and after like 2 years i noticed i havent looked up the artists, so i did and my musical taste changed for ever.

2. It's a bit embarassing but i actually tought the song is about riding in a car or something, when one day (after about THREE years i first heard the song), i'm like. HOLY S**T! LSD!! Now i get it! And only from that moment i tried to find little puzzles that other songs might have. Man fun times!

I was about to leave for university in the new term and was looking through some artists' websites. One of my favorite illustrators was this French Canadian guy who had a 2min long segment of 'Pete Standing Alone' preformed by an orchestra. I had no idea what the song was at the time, the site was all in French and he didn't respond to my e-mails. I listened to that small low-quality bit all Summer until the website died a year later.

Two years on from that I hear the original Boards of Canada version just appear out of nowhere on 'Music has the Right to Children'. It was like being at a reunion or something.
