i'm really sad about actress quitting this thing but ghettoville just seems like the perfect ending to the whole project
i listened to "credit da edit" and then "rule" right after and it's interesting to see how much he's grown
i'd love to hear him explore the looped pop music/vaporwave thing more maybe under a pseudonym idk

The word overrated springs to mind. I haven't heard this album though....

i think its cool but it is a very specific and basic concept 'messyness' . . . i am not sure there is much depth to it. i prefer eric copeland for that realm! but there are some definitley interesting moments on the album! i think the best thing i can say about actress is his music is 'intresting' lol

it reminds me when i go to sit down and look at a blank page and i need to draw something but nothings really coming out so i end up with a bunch of messy half done scribbles and doodles just like the cover art of this album! and i think the songs are like that too! IMO

my fav track is Rule and i also like Birdcage

Ghettoville was amazing for me. As I stated on Last.fm, this album sounded like Actress' hip-hop version of Andy Stott's "Passed Me By" for me.

His older albums I don't like tho. When he even played in Brazil, I hated "R.I.P." at the time. I think I'll give to him a second chance, especially because I liked some tracks on "Splazsh".

ghettoville is way way way too long.

R.I.P. was challenging enough, it's just a bit too much.

I should second this thing about the album been too long indeed. The album have a loooooooong intro and takes too long for starting picking up my attention.

I don't know if it's just me, but the problem I have with Actress is that, with his album, only a half of it it's good. "Splazsh" and "Hazyville", as example, the first half of them are great, but the second half really takes a dive down into some really bad songs. With "Ghettoville" was the contrary: the second half of the album was better than the first one (again, Ghettoville have a unnecessary long intro tracks )
