I can't help but smile whenever I play a BoC song for a friend, and at first they think it's weird, but the more they listen to it the more they love it.

I always play Julie and Candy for my friends who typically only listen to rap music, and now they love this song. I guess sharing this band that has brought me such great joy with other people makes me feel good inside.

Other songs I've gotten the same friends into include Music is Math, The Devil is in The Details, and Dawn Chorus.

I agree, it is very satisfying when someone likes a Boc track that I play. I'm currently trying to get my roommate to like autechre, but it hasn't been easy.

Oooh bloody hell. My school and my group of friends are full of defenders or people who listen to rock, metal, pop or electro music only (not that I have anything against these, especially rock and pop), but these people will never want to broaden their horizons. If I find a person who will like BoC I will be happy for the next few years

I have a lot of internet friends who loves BoC, but not a single one in my daily routine.

I've gotten 3 or 4 friends of mine into BoC, but the step wasn't thag big since all of them listened to Portishead/Massive Attack/Bonobo/Flying Lotus kind of stuff. Just waiting for the 3 album vinyl pack to arrive so we can hqve a nice Boards listening drinkathon!

Word, that's where I start most of my friends off at. It's funny, a buddy of mine who usually likes BoC-esque stuff actually made me turn off Julie and Candy, said it creeped him out. Yet my friends that listen to rap loved it.

I'm usually overjoyed when friends or family tell me they like a BOC tune..but soon after TH emerged, my mum told me she bought a copy and was listening to White Cyclosa on repeat. That *floored* me.

That's so awesome. My dad likes BoC but I can't see my mom liking them at all.

Well, yeah. The same as any band or artist that I like a lot.

I burnt my copy of Tomorrow's Harvest onto my mum's laptop and she really liked it, so that's a thing

i've introduced BoC to a good handful of people, including my mom, who now really like them. it is so satisfying. still i haven't been able to find someone who fully understands my BoC feels. midwestern american boards of canada fans are few and far between.

when i take trips with my mom i always play boards of canada and sometimes i will catch her listening to them in the kitchen as she cooks.

When I was 16/17 I was into happy hardcore in quite a big way*.

Caught my mum listening to a DJ Slipmatt cassette when she thought I wasn't there, it was quite a shock.
