hahah i hate that they hardly do ANY driving to this track but I love that you can hear the "yeah" at :17 in the video! The boys at nissan's ad agency know the score.

I thought the same thing, and I don't think it's just because I'm familiar with how it's supposed to be. They just didn't get the rhythm right.

Were you watching SNL by chance? That is the only place I've seen it so far. It came out of left field while I was watching a stream on my computer and listening to SNL on my television. I'd like to think there is a longer version somewhere because that was...awkward.

Actually that's where I saw it and is what made me track it down online. I haven't seen it since then either, but it's a car ad, so I'm sure it will be played incessantly for at least a month or two!

I'm really glad they've stuck with Dayvan Cowboy as their default track to license to various TV shows and now commercials...

Speaking of Boards of Canada being used in advertisements etc, I noticed while playing the game Smash Hit on Android that the soundtrack used at the beginning of the game sounds eerily BoC like, especially the song IABPOITC.

Here's a link, the song I'm thinking of is titled "Start"

I had both my little brothers and friend text me about this commercial, knowing how big of a BoC nut I am.

Definitely agree on that beginning awkward part-- but still enjoyed the commercial.

I hear you on this. I got the game and thought my, that sounds very BoC like!


I soon deleted it however as my attention span is just soooo terrible!

This is a cheesy commercial, but I do enjoy hearing BoC in unlikely places. I saw this during an ad break of 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odessey', and it really fit the mood of the show quite well.

Incidentally, the host of 'Cosmos', Neil deGrasse Tyson, is the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The planetarium has used Boards of Canada tracks in some of their presentations in the past, and even supplied their records in the museum gift shop.
