This has been touched upon in a few threads before but i would like to discuss it again almost a year on from its release.



I definitely get a feel for the concepts present in most of the songs. I do feel they all carry the theme well but struggle to see how they link together in a chronological story telling order.

I really love the opening track with its movie like feel and again the last two tracks definitely feel like the closing track followed by that second track that you would often hear at the end of a film as the credits are winding up for all the support staff, thanks to the city of etc . . . but the stuff in the middle i still have not thrown it all together yet.

If anyone feels it is a chronological narrative; do you care to have a go at describing it track by track?

Well I feel that the order is exactly that it should be, EXCEPT maybe 1-2 tracks, which made me curious about the order, the first maybe is Palace Posy, maybe.... and Split your infinities, now this track really stick out of the all TH tracklist, so I dunno if some one made a good statement about his... but now I feel TH is in perfect order, how it should be listened

Yes, with the exception of JC as kind of a flashback.

a rising tone of anxiety through the first half peaks with collapse in the middle. it feels like the first half is set in the familiar world we have as it progresses down this path. the second describes the new world we inherit. all the songs would seem to bounce from one perspective to another throughout the story, like a novel, which might make it seem a little jumbled. it makes sense in time.

palace posy has absolutely no fit whatsoever with the rest of the tracks on the album.



which makes me wonder if it was placed there for a reason. i mean, the entire album has a very strong undertone to it, as though there is something else going on, we just havent picked up on it yet.


i love tomorrows harvest. but certain tracks have so much potential and then end up just looping, t split your infinities is one example. i feel like there might be some alternate arraignment to the songs themselves

To be fair, this could probably be said about most of the albums the band has released. Zeotrope? Basefree? It's an abrupt song to say the least, but it fits in just fine to me.

In an interview boards stated that the second to last track was a reprise of the second track and the track in the middle was palindromic.
Following that pattern I have listened to tomorrow's harvest in this order:

All of the tracks suddenly seem to make sense in terms of it flowing perfectly.
I'm not saying Collapse should be listened to first as the list is also palindromic (last track feeds in to first again)
I tend to start with gemini.

EDIT: This order seems to deal with the issue of palace posy starting abruptly.

I also feel Palace Posy is out of place. I think it's the one old tune on the album that they included.

I actually start to doubt it, the voice technique comes in the end of the track sound similar to me, as in Sick Times...so I dunno

What I thought, Split Your Infinities musically is so "unmusical", so that it sound more like a "message", than an album song, just my thoughts

Gemini and Reach for the dead are definitely in the wrong place. The do not link into each other at al. Gemini just stops abruptly

they implied in an interview somewhere that the album follows a narrative and also that tracks end/mix inappropriately on purpose, so I assume they're in order and the abruptness is intentional
