TELL ME that doesnt sound like BoC's 1969...the synth. thats on an Amiga.
AKAI SG01V sample sounds like it coulda been used on COLD EARTH
use a little less cutoff and a little more reverb.

You know what it is really similar hey, less cutoff, little more verb and a little less resonance too. It will remove the squelches
You are referring to the opening synth in cold earth right? or the choir like one that comes in just after?
But also maybe as i find the sound in cold earth is a lot softer, maybe less voices? or one of the osc in the sample on youtube has a phaser on it or something?
As soon as it started I did a head turn "Whoa thats like cold..."
