I don't want fire anyone up, so I'll start out by saying I haven't heard a yes, or no yet from my contacts from warp. I finally went ahead and contacted the big boss man at warp about the idea's that came up earlier. Although i did ask the entire forum for idea's...only a few came up so that is what Im ultimately choosing. I choose the first idea, which would be to have a small myspace interview over a message. I would let the forum come up with all the most creative and fun questions to ask. Next, was Aesthetics Idea, a boards of canada remix competition where they would actually be involved and choose one of the remixes. Now, I have just sent my email to them and warp has been very responsive to me...so i'm crossing my fingers here. Like i said...its either gonna be a no or yes but It is definitely worth asking. My only worry is....lets say they are ready for Aesthetics remix idea. I would be worried about how many serious remixers we can get in here to do the job. But i'm sure if people know boc were actually involved...we can get people from all over the place, twoism, watmm, other various forum sites...and including myspace which is a tyrant of spreading info.
Anyway people, I'll keep you updated. Let's just figure they will say a big NO, so we can be suprised if anything else happens. So i'll change my attitude right now...
Man...fuck, they are gonna tell me to piss off and forget about it ( my new/fake attitude )

I wonder what the answer will be, if it happen to be positive about the remix competition I'll be more than thankfull to you.
Don't worry about the amout of serious contributions. The Xltronic Autechre remix competition had 171 serious contributions.. the winner got a copy of Legofeet and also a chance to get his remix on an upcoming release of the boys.
Let's see what BoC has to offer.

Hey buddies, just got back from a 10 hour shift of work and Im immediatly hitting some frosty brews. Ok so nothing to update on...hopefully tomorrow i will get it with a yes no type thing. And i know what you mean guys, we all have a SERIOUS bone to pick with the red moon fuzz. And the boxset...tour dates, etc etc. But these golden questions is what im worried about. It seems boc would expect these questions, I'm sure they have been asked hundreds of thousands of times. I think its fairly clear they are not going to answer questions that have ANYTHING to do with live dates or future releases. Now redmoon IS something they can maybe explain, that isn't too much to fucking ask...seriously. I'll get back to ya chaps, take it easy.

I think it's a great idea Joshowski. It will almost certainly lead to nothing but kudos to you for giving it a try. As much as i'd love to see it i can't see them going for the remix thing. Maybe the interview though; you never know.

thanks thanks. Obviously, us dedicated loving boards of canada fans will be perplexed by boards of canada's reasons to NOT interact and be involved with their fans. Yes...we know they love making music, their life, and everything private above. But if you have a loving fan base....what is the damn harm in doing simple things such as having a harmless fun myspace interview or remix competition? I mean...I love the music, but a couple things about those guys really kind of piss me off. If you want to be THAT secret, stick to music 70 privately and share it with family and friends ONLY. But obviously, they are on warp...albums are being sold like crazy, t-shirts are going like hot cakes, people fucking LOVE this music and they will pay honest money for it. So all i say ...as maker of their site they are using, and as a fan...is just be a TAD bit more compassionate for the people who LIVE by your music. Why dick us around with mysterious red moon shit? why not deliver any kind of steady yes or no's about rumours? we will NEVER know. We will always love them...but I truly believe they should be a bit more uplifting to all the people who support them, and honestly love them. I don't reckon they will be down with our idea's...even though i started their hugely growing myspace site. honestly....all i really want is a yes/no from boc themselves. I dont' care if its a no...just some kind of official say-so.

if i was BOC, or one of BOC's friends, and i read that post, i would probably think "what a fucking prick". and i'd definitely not do an interview for you.

i'd say 'give him one of those boxsets, they've been laying here for ages'. no seriously, it'd be nice if it was possible to clear some things up and ask some more common questions (like the touring stuff) but i think you should simply go for it and let the brothers decide which questions they want to answer to. tho i'm sure a lot of us want to know it all

Oh yes and I must admit I'm still feeling sceptical about this, we have had the wool pulled over our eyes quiet a few times.

Fuck a remix. Asking questions about Pre-Twoism music is the key here. The Red Moon too. Future dates, and things they are working on right now. I mean, asking them straight up real questions that they can not back down from, stuff we know is true! Doing remixes would be cool, but I doubt they will choose to do that, if warp really passes this on to them hahaha. They just put out an album and an ep, and they are most likely, maybe working on some new shit, or releasing old shit.

Hahaha

I'm down for that trip. I'll request the deluxe BOC package and have them pick me up on their top secret hexagon sun space craft. But Polar sky does bring up a good point about all the loads of boc material that has hit lately. One full lush album, mediocre ep with the odd nosdam remix and god knows what else they are crafting in the telephasic workshop right now. I guess the only thing that would be beneficial is the real questions. Sadly i'm pretty sure they don't want to ask those rugged straight up questions...no interviewer has really done this quite yet.
Shit, these guys are rough. It's time to strip it down bigtime
and ask...
shit...ya just can't get much out of it. All you can do is breathe your oxygen and hope for the best. I know i made a slightly douche bag comment towards boards up above...but come on, sometimes boc fans can get a little agrovated with them. I just don't like the sense that perhaps they mess us around? Sure, let their embedded messages and crazy good music spin our minds but keep it at that ( i hope )
So ultimately, I feel quite limited with all this. Time to chow down a bunch of mushrooms and wait for a boc epiphany.

Don't you like the mystery? I think thats one of the great things that is BoC.

I wouldnt say they mess us around, when you think all the shit that has happend, it was twats from the internet that stired the shit, not BoC. The Redmoon, well people maybe just totally missed the whole point of it. I think looking back it was just some little art page for the fans out there. But we were fools and drawn into it too much.
Hell, I dont see why BoC should of thought "if we put this webpage advertising a nice thing in nature called the redmoon, they might think its a gig". But then again, It would be intrested too what all the codes meant, I think they will mean something as they are not the type just to put random numbers to look all "werid" and "cryptic", but you never know again.
What I'm saying is I dont think its BoC messed or does mess us about, just some people out there who crave for attention. Plus this is why me and many other fans (and yourself) or wary of things like this and even the myspace page because people like to fuck people about. But I just wait for proof and be optimistic until their is.
Back on topic, I would like the Redmoon incident to come up if their were a interview, after all it did cause such a puzzle with the fans and I'd like to know how BoC feel to have such strong and dedicated fans.

The mystery is what got me into BoC in the first place... and all the little secrets in their tracks... I was, in fact, kinda sad when they said in interviews all the secrets they put in their tracks are just for fun and nothing more but jolly good fun... made it a bit more bland to me...
