I don't think there is a post relating to Yes and I think there should be. I mean they have obviously influenced some great modern bands . Find me a better breakdown of music than this at 3:47, you'd be hard pushed. There is some 5.9.78 in here.

I've always enjoyed yes, Close to the Edge, Relayer and Going for the One being my Favourites.
I saw them play live at the Glasgow Apollo in 1980 (November I think, cause it was freezing cold queing to get in)
This was the notorious line up with Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes(The Buggles), which was the Drama Album,
they were still brilliant, Trevor horn did A great job.
I would have loved to have seen them with Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson .

Yes album (not self-titled), Close to the Edge, and Fragile are commonly pulled off the shelf over here.

Overlooked them a bit in my "progressive" teenage years. Concentrated on early Floyd sonic adventures, and demonish Gabriel of early Genesis, then Crimson aggressive live music with Bill Bruford.
Perhaps a bit bombastic mood? Anderson's voice? Don't know really, but always been curious how this music might sound with more "unlike anything in rock", delicate and precise Bruford approach to rhythm. I think, Fragile would be my favourite record...I frequently return to "To Be Over" though. Beautiful song...But, BB 4 ever!

Recently been getting into Everything Everything who are known for the artrock way they cut from style to style within a song, and at times there is a strong Yes influence. Check the chorus of 'NASA Is On Your Side' from their first album - Jonathan Higgs even sounds a bit like a young Jon Anderson on this one...
