I was just reading the Boards of Canada Wikipedia page, when I came across the following line in the Media Usage section.

"Seaward Leaf" From the EP "Hooper Bay" was used for the original theme music for the BBC2 series "Look Around You"

So people that are more familiar with the show, does the theme actually resemble something Boards of Canada might have made?

Didn't Peter Serafinawitz write the music for that under his Gelg pseudonym?

This is still up there, It used to play the MP3's but does@nt now. or its just temperamental.

I'm willing to bet, depending on the source, that this is in error. First because i was under the impression that, as stated, Pete Serafinawitz and Robert Popper did all the music for Look Around You. Second cause this track has never turned up in earnest and I would be pretty surprised if this was where it first would. Most people who would have such a thing from the actual source wouldn't use it commercially.

what's happened here is, the theme music was put on soulseek mislabelled as seward leaf, some one has downloaded it and thought "ah i recognise this from look around you", and decided to record that thought for the world to laugh at on wikipedia without first considering that perhaps it was a fake upload.

I think I'll give this until the time I finish work and then lock. Unless anyone has any objections?

I used to watch Look Around You all the time. Some of the music on there is BoC-esque because they're influenced by similar sources. If a Hooper Bay track was used as the soundtrack though (which it absolutely wasn't) then we'd surely know about it by now?

If I recall correctly, there was a fake going around with music from Look Around You that was incorrectly attributed to Boards of Canada before being debunked.

I'm fairly certain it's okay to post a link to this seeing as how they were free to download back when the original links still worked. Haven't personally seen that particular Hooper Bay fake (all the ones I've seen are full of Múm), but given the sound of them I'm not at all surprised that it's out there.
