A few old years ago I bought the original pressing of Geogaddi on eBay. When it arrived it was basically perfect condition...except for one thing. The vinyls had been taken out of their original printed sleeves and placed inside the round shaped plastic vinyl sleeves, you know, the type that comes with records from Japan, sometimes i think they're called moon shaped...anyways...

It doesn't affect the actual product but its bugged me for years which vinyl went into which printed sleeve. I basically had to guess which sleeve went with which vinyl based on pictures of other copies of Geogaddi for sale, but thats only a vague approximation. The repressings don't help because the sleeves are different from the originals.

Does anybody have a copy where the vinyl and sleeves have never been mixed up?

Yup.

Disc 1 goes in the sleeve that has the blonde haired kid looking away from the camera and smirking, in a blueish background on one side and a red and white cross and dots on the other.

Disc 2 has the monkey/Kodak image and darker face that is smiling and looking straight to camera and triangles on it.

Disc 3 has the sleeve with blue tint and a kid is in dungarees one side and a very dark, almost black side with another face looking at the camera and not quite smiling.

If that makes no sense, let me know and I'll try and upload photos.

Thank you so much, this has bothered me for years. Don't know why i didnt think to ask sooner. I can kind of tell the labels match up now too.

I had to google "dungarees". I have seriously gone my 29 years of life without ever hearing this word used. Is it a UK thing? TBH it sounds like a word used by a comically stereotypical Australian. lol. In Canada we just call 'em "overalls". And I think that's the case for the US too. Cause I've watched countless movies and TV shows from the US and never heard that term there either.

Well, you learn something new everyday. Some days the things you learn are more useful than the previous day.... sometimes not...

Well, assuming you're implying it's commonly used there, my guess is out the window, heh.

Maybe it stops being used at the border of the anti-dungarees bubble that surrounds my life lol.

I am also from the northeast coast of the USA, and the first time I ever saw the word 'dungarees' was earlier in this thread.

In 1605 a Scottish NEEP (turnip) farmer was passing a field on his way home from an afternoon drink at the inn and spotted some high quality manure, realising he had no means of transporting said Animal Muck,he decided to take off his workwear/overalls and tie them off at the knee with some string he happened to have in his pocket (regular trousers tended to be slightly shorter in those days).Filling each leg with DUNG he was able to carry the aforementioned Muck Home. It took several return trips to get the required amount ( the wheel had come off his wheelbarrow and was out of use).
hence the term DUNG - A - REES (trousered manure container tied off at knee)

In the U.S. the mill at Shady Lea North Washington Rhode Island was built in the1820's by Elmer Fudd to Manufacture " The Kentucky Jean" or Dungaree.

Only on Twoism could a thread start about the correct sleeves for a triple album and mutate into the provenance of a word for the traditional attire of Dexy's Midnight Runners..

This is true. At least here in the midwest, overalls and coveralls are different, too. Overalls are generally more casual oriented, being made of denim, while coveralls are more utility, like Carhartts or the waterproof ones sailors wear.

Be french, just say "salopette"...
