Pastoral Tones
This project took me awhile to complete. It was originally started in mid-summer, but it took me forever to find the right sounds and come up with an inspiring GUI. I've also took the time to learn music theory and music production more in depth, I think it shows. Here's the description for the plugin:
Pastoral Tones is a sample based instrument inspired by the sound aesthetic of Boards Of Canada. The plugin includes 62 preset sound to choose from featuring analog synthesizers, flutes, brasses, strings, electric pianos, sound FX, basses and atmospheres. The acoustic instrument sounds have been sampled from public domain films produced between the 1950s and the 1970s. To thicken the sound, various sound modules have been added, including a sub oscillator, vinyl and film grain noise layers as well as field recordings sampled from public domain old films. All the preset sounds are one sample stretched over 5 octaves of the keyboard. Multi-samples have been avoided to increase loading speed, keep the plugin light on RAM and to obtain that old sampler vibe. As a result, Pastoral Tones runs well on older computer. Furthermore, recordings of public domain films were preferred in order to get the most authentic retro sound possible, the kind of sounds you would hear on a Boards Of Canada album.

The audio demos sound nice. I'd like to play around with this but it'll be quite some time. All of my funds are going towards moving expenses for the next few months. I think the only thing I'm going to spend money on, outside of necessary bills, is maybe seeing Star Wars again in theaters at some point.
I bookmarked the website and I'll come back once I'm in my new place and things are settled. But yeah, this sounds pretty cool and well done.

Looks very nice. Love the demo sounds.
The only thing for me is that a plugin like this does a lot of the stuff I enjoy doing myself. It looks like you put a lot of work in to it.
I'm sure somebody who's not into sounding overly BoCy could knock some creative usage out of this too though, so you may be doing yourself a disservice by declaring BoC as the inspiration which might put some people off.
It would be a great short-cut for somebody who would like to sound almost identical to BoC without putting in any of the hard work, if such a person exists (surely not).
Great work though. I'd love to have such skillz

Thanks for buying it! I've received some very good music made with Pastoral Tones recently. Unfortunately, it was privately shared, so I can't share the Soundcloud links, but I've been genuinely impressed with what people do with it. Even if it's a sample based plugins, people use it differently.
