Maybe June 9th was deeply traumatic day in the life. Doesn't sound like a happy day to me.

Why would they name a song after a day that caused them trauma ?

Same reason as any other band would/have done. Emotion inspiration? Catharsis?

But it doesn't sound like a song that was inspired by trauma. And believe me, I know what those sound like.

My birthday is June 8th so I've always got it in the back of my head that good news could drop at any time that evening (being in the US and all) but I guess nothing's in the cards this year.
TH was the best birthday gift ever...

For some reason, the song June 9th has always reminded me of Mission Impossible. Because of this, I have always imagined the day June 9th was a day the boys went on an adventure that was both amazing and fraught with peril, but ultimately ended safe and peacefully.

June 9th is such a good song. Worked on a cover of it with my jazz band a while ago. You can hear just a taste of it at the end of this:
Unfortunately we never got around to polishing a full-blown cover. Still absolutely intend to as soon as I can though, as well as many other tunes.
EDIT: here's some very minimal sheet music for June 9th on piano someone asked me to write up recently:

My birthday is June 10, so when I found out that
Tomorrow's Harvest's release date was the 10th, I freaked out.

Happy belated June 9th, twoism! I listened to Hi Scores on Vinyl and 3 more times on my phone as I went for a walk, did some freeletics and while I had a shower and ate breakfast n stuff. It was a great BoC day!
My birthday was in the summer of 1986... Do you see the connection?? Behold!! I AM the 1986 Summer Fire!! *laughs hysterically*

I've always thought it sounded like the opening music to some sort of spy/espionage thriller from the 1960s/70s

June 9th, 1993 was also the day the recordings of Koresh's conversations with the FBI during the Waco siege that took place earlier that year were made public.
