BOC records that haven't been repressed

I find it really strange that both Warp and Skam have had massive represses of BOC records and yet have decided to leave certain parts of their back catalogue stuck in first-pressing purgatory - more specifically the Peel Session (CD and 12") and the Aquarius 7". Does anybody know if these will ever be repressed, and if not, why?

(I want Chinook and Happy Cycling on vinyl, damn it.)

Who knows, perhaps they'd even do it properly this time, unlike the last debacle. ;-)

I feel like 7" records are the least likely to get repressed. It happens, but not as frequently. The peel sessions record isn't too difficult to get on discogs for a decent price still, but I would definitely like a repress of it. Not sure if Warp would need permission from the BBC to get those tracks repressed or something though, I don't really know what the whole situation behind peel session recordings is and who owns what

IIRC weren't there some copyright issues with XYZ and Edgar Foresee or Tangerine Dream or someone? They may be waiting to get that sorted out to re release it?

Also, the 7" version of Aquarius is the one that contains the sample from the Hair soundtrack

I just think some artists like to have rare records in their back catalogue. Simple as that really.

I don't see the Aquarius 7" being repressed. That's more of a collector's item than an essential part of the BoC discography. It probably wouldn't get much interest from most of the people who already bought the MHTRTC repress that contains the later version of Aquarius.

If you really care that much about having a legal copy of Chinook, then you'll have to fork over the money for an original pressing. As far as the average fan is concerned, BoC's discography is more repressed than my sexuality.

At one point you could buy it on mp3 from their old website, but it doesn't seem to be downloadable from the new Bleep store

...probably because of the copyright issue already mentioned

What issue? The one with XYZ? Because that's a different release.

The sample from the Hair soundtrack as I mentioned just a bit further up this thread ^

Chinook also samples an episode of Doctor Who, if that has any significance

I offered them my soul and an orange, but they still turned me down. I did what I could.

I know they don't want to repress those records, but it kinda saddens me that one the reasons he (one of the guys behind Funkstörung) gave was "because it would be unfair for the collectors". I really hope it was just some german humor, or something like that.

At least we can hear these rare tunes via youtube, imagine a world where they were pressed onto vinyl or played at gigs and that was that.
