Any fellow Kate Bush fans here?

I was thinking of making this thread to discuss our favourite kate bush songs, albums, any rare records etc.

Worthy of a thread for sure, but do remember to search old threads first. We have a couple already That being said, with the exception of the live shows thread they've never been prolific post wise. And as it's late and I can't be arsed to lock this one, crack on!

My introduction to Kate was her and Peter Gabriel on the song Don't Give Up

I've been a fan since I saw her do Wuthering Heights many, many moons ago (it was, I think, the first music video I ever saw). It's amazing how she's kept exploring and experimenting and doing things that - hit or miss - were different to what everyone else was doing.

My wife has very different musical tastes to me but Kate is one of those few musicians we're both fans of. Hounds of Love is probably both our favourite album, just so much good stuff on there. We saw her live gig in London the other year, and she did a whole chunk of that album, it was very cool. Her voice is a little different now, but she's still absolutely got it. This was her first song out though - What a way to come back!

Rare stuff... I don't have much, actually. I have the "This Woman's Work" box set, but there's not too much stuff on there that hasn't been anywhere else. I've got a bootleg copy of the unreleased pre-Kick Inside stuff, and there's a few songs on that I have a soft spot for, but it's a bootleg, so. Oh and a VCD of The Whole Story as well, that's a bit rare cos you know. Video CDs!

I am only familiar with Cloudbusting, but it's a great song!

Kate Bush is a goddess and I think I wore out my cassette of hounds of love as a kid!
I think My fav track is "Running up that hill" FKA Twigs would be NOTHING without her.

Fond memories of some really great road trips.

I've had a crush on Kate Bush since I was a kid. She's a bloody genius. I'm mostly a HUGE fan of Never For Ever; Babooshka, the Infant Kiss and Breathing are my best friends. That said, what do people here think of one of her more recent albums, 50 Words for Snow? I thought it was stupidly gorgeous. That title track is so mesmerising.

It's impossible not to fall for someone rocking both a harp and a Fairlight.

I particularly love the mix of melody and experimentation on Never For Ever too.

I'm refloating this because she deserves more praise. I'm slowly getting into her work for these last couple of months, I Just bought an old 'The Whole Story' vinyl and I'm becoming a fan for sure. I remember hearing Wuthering Heights like two years ago and thinking it was not my thing at all, like I couldn't hear what was great about it. I still haven't heard a full record from her, but going by this compilations and some tracks I heard online, the music is so varied and so evocative. It's no-doubt-pop as I find myself singing these songs on my daily routine and trying to get other people into it. The Man With the Child in His Eyes always gets me emotional, Running Up That Hill is SO good (wish I could hear a version with better audio; thinking about those drums on the forefront makes me moist), Wuthering Heights is so campy and so catchy and so emotional, Hounds of Love is awe inducing, Cloudbusting is pure bliss...

Sorry I'm not contributing anything new but I really wanted to praise the girl.

Gutted when she 'came out' as a Tory. Not surprised per se. Just.....disappointed.

Heard a story once that back in the 80's/90's, years after she'd released anything, her label were getting twitchy.
Out of the blue one day they get a call from her asking the head of EMI to come over and 'see what I've been working on'
Excited, said label chief rushes over, eager to see what she's been cooking up in her hiatus.
Kate presents him with some freshly baked hash cakes.
Literally.

Wuthering heights of course, although it's Wow that does it for me. I was in Taiwan for a week by myself a few years back and Wow was on a Solid Steel mix I was listening to. Just had this one section on constant repeat, wherever I was travelling to, was mesmerising. Probably the line 'you're all alone tonight'.

The Fog's my favourite.
