DJ DOUGGPOUND (Doug Lussenhop) RARE Tape

Hey guys, i'm really sorry if that seemed a clickbaity title but this is something I think you'd all really enjoy. If you don't know the name DJ Douggpound off the top of your head, he was HUGELY influential on the style of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Not only that, but he's gone on to work on the Eric Andre show and Portlandia, as well as his YouTube series, Pound House.

ANYWAY, i'll get to the point. I interviewed him last week for my podcast and he gave me a heads up on this tape he's releasing of music from 1998-2003. It's totally unconnected to Tim and Eric and isn't really comedy, it's more Doug just making IDM music. What's particularly of interest for this forum is that he sent me the files over to listen to (so I didn't have to buy the tape, which I did anyway), and i'm AMAZED by how much it reminds me of R35TT, Old Tunes etc.

It really is crazy. The music is similar in many ways, it has the same developmental quality (in a GOOD way) and has that juicy rarity that everyone on here loves. There's only 100 of these tapes available! As far as I know, none of it's available online either. Just thought i'd give you guys a heads up as, having heard it, it's so up the BoC street it's ridiculous. That's not even to say it's a rip off, it's totally his own thing, it's just with the rarity/aesthetic going on. Conjured up STRONG BoC vibes to me.

Anyway, another nice little thing is it's only $5, so it's not demanding too much from the ol' wallet. Anyway, I don't want to sound too much like i'm advertising or owt, I've been here a while and used to post regularly for a bit. I just really did think that some BoC fans should get in on this exclusive little bugger. We're exactly the kind of fandom who would appreciate it.

I've received a couple of e-mails showing interest in getting the samples. Just thought it worth mentioning that there's no need for any more requests! I've posted up a companion article to my podcast with Doug, which features four samples from the tape in question (I got his personal permission before doing this). It's available here:

It's some ways through the article before I start talking about the tape and present the samples, but i'm sure you guys are smart enough to locate them. Any fans of Lussenhop might just get something out of his responses within the piece :)

Thanks to everyone who showed interest, I really do believe the tape is worth it!
