No I'm not talking about that FAKE crap that I can't believe anyone thought was BOC. I'm talking about the real stuff from Bleep.

I also couldn't resist...
...it's a great track, but certainly not the best BoC have done, and the melody is a bit more inconsistent than in other BoC pieces.

What existing BoC track is the new track most like? Does it sound like much of an evolution?

I think "Oscar..." is great, what BOC do best. Sounds like it could have come off Geogaddi I say so not an enormous leap forward, but then it is just a taster of the new album.

im listening to it now for the third time, and i think its great! after listening to it once i thought it was a bit confused but after all, the name of the album is 'the campfire headphase' so this album might be a personal reference to a specific time period in their lives... (like when they did way too many mushyz)
i like the track a lot, theres a lot of detail in there. it might make more sense once the full album is released.

Sounds like it could have come off Geogaddi
Yeah, but it is more mellow, less dark, no obvious references or voices, less 'clear' melody (it's harder to hum along), traces of guitars... and the beat is more MHTRTC-ish.
It's also a 'daytime' track imo, which contradicts the campfire theme.

My initial impression was that it sounded reminiscent of "Pete Standing Alone" - but much sadder in some way. I think my perspective on this track might be different than most people because I believe that Geogaddi was NOT a qualitative step down from MHTRTC- and I really like the complexity and unpredictability of its melody and elements.
Incidentally, my greatest fear for this album was that it would be 'different' and 'forward-thinking.' I demand that out of people like DJ Shadow. I like BOC just how they are. May their sound get better, but NEVER CHANGE!

i need to listen to the whole album to make a decision. I always look forward to how they lead into and out of each other, thats what makes a great album for any artist, other wise its just a bunch of good songs.

At first I was a bit underwhelmed, but now, a few days after the fact, this track is really starting to grow on me.
I can safely say that I hold huge expectations for the album, and with output like this, they'll probably be met!

it's kind of lame to see they did everything so pristine.
it's not fun.
