Yes but the city is where we indulge in all the commercial and economic goodness that thrives in this world....besides, where else would we buy our BOC albums and computers and the like???

Besides, the city has soul too when you think about it...it's where you can socialize with your fellow man and expand your knowledge on new ideas....it's where you enhance your social skills and - if utilized right - where you become a better person overall....

I am living just outside a "big" city and I like it very much this way but there is a difference between cities and Cities if you get my point...
some people I know really like to live in Amsterdam for example, me on the other hand hate it because the city never sleeps

I guess the reason is that a lot of people don´t know better, for them it is normal because they grew up in a city

Yeh I understand what you mean....but the way I view it, if so many people want to live life to the fullest, then why bother spending 1/3 of our life in sleep....maybe thats why I'm always looking around with baggy eyes....and I dont even live in a city...just outside of it lol

I want to gather power from the earth. But I live in a city.

How can I do it?

The world needs more people who understand just how content and free of 21st century stress nature can make you. Humans where designed to function in nature and it is the only way to be truly content.
Happiness lies right infront of them and they still look to money for pleasure.

In the current state of the world, I agree.

The concept of many people living in such a proximity to each other as to make the meeting of new people and exchange of ideas very likely is not a bad one. Hell, even heavily technology dependent spaces and communities are not at all bad or alienating in principle. Though I would love to see more green in cities, much much more green (not that kind.)

I am by general political principle anti-capitalist, though I don't enjoy mentioning it because doing so comes with the connotation in many circles of being an impractical idealist. But regardless, that general principle influences my view on cities and the outdoors. The sheer psychological pressures exerted on every person who lives in cities is really too much to bare for many people (though not all), and certainly not what I would call happy living. Living out in the country can be very therapeutic and I would argue that it is an option that should be attempted before even thinking about psychiatric drugs.

I for one am planning on getting out of good old Londontown asa-fucking-p. I already try to take a weekend out to camp here and there.

The older I get, the further I want to move out in the country somewhere. I would like the ability to play my drums outside at 3:00am if I felt like it...just a thought.
