Stepping onto a motionless escalator never ceases to disorientate me. Lick by BOC has a similar effect because it sounds like it bounces between two 4/4 timings, one a step behind/ahead of the other. The trick is probably intentional knowing the boys, and calls to mind Devo's 'Freedom of Choice' which references Aesop's Fable of the Dog and its Reflection:

Nice. Btw the beginning beat to that Devo track you mention reminds me of BoC's Whitewater beat.

If you haven't heard Old Tunes Vol. 2 (and especially if you also haven't heard A Few Old Tunes which is considered part one) you are in for an amazing treat.

I hadn't heard last walk around mirror lake until a year or two ago despite hearing absolutely everything else they have ever released (to the best of my knowledge) and it was a fantastic feeling being able to hear some BoC for the first time again.

Thats right, getting to hear both Old Tunes (don't forget about R35TT either) after listening to everything they officially released for a while is a great feeling, I remember the same happened when I found out about Korona and Orange Romeda, and most recently with the Roygbiv Alpha Quest Mix. I still haven't checked out their remixes (other than the poppy seed ones) so I'm going to do that ASAP.

My sentiments exactly. Last walk around Mirror Lake is a real Campfir-ogaddi track. It bridges the gap perfectly between the two releases and is arguably their most beautiful work in my opinion so I would start with that if you have yet to get into the remixes.

Fantastic track! I always have loved the Old Tunes era BoC, sometimes I listen to those releases more than the official releases. (Probably because I've heard their actual albums too much XD)
