So before the possible new Boards of Canada material drops, let's remember some of the craziest tunes they put in. First comes in my mind is: Split Your Infinities.

An Eagle in your mind is by far the most psychedelic track.. Closely followed by Julie and Candy.. Then Sixtyten

To me, the craziest they've ever released is without a doubt Seven Forty Seven. I hope we'll hear a new similar track on Sunday, as a 10 years anniversary

Also I can't help but mention Reach for the Dead.

My top 5 most mind-bending track picks:

1. Telephasic Workshop. Still blows my mind every time I listen. The interplay of the beat and vocal samples is insane.

2. A is to B as B is to C. A track that sounds equally good backwards and forwards, with snippets of melody and vocals emerging both ways. A masterpiece.

3. Nothing is Real. The subliminal-style vocals make for a great audio illusion: when you don’t know what it’s saying, it’s totally incomprehensible, but after you read a transcript, you can’t un-hear it.

4. The Devil is in the Details. The voice trying to hypnotize and subliminally program you is actually made creepier by the fact that what it’s saying SOUNDS good on the surface. “This won’t be more than you can handle,” “this will only happen if you choose,” etc. It’s speaking like it’s trustworthy but everything else in the track, from the insects writhing to the baby crying, screams danger and horror, which gives you the feeling the voice is trying to trick you. Brilliant.

5. Sherbet Head. This song feels like being stuck in an old deteriorating home video on its last playback. Listening to it on psychedelics has given me extremely intense flashbacks to childhood memories.

Great! Same here. It gives me flashbacks to forgotten scents and images of childhood even without psychedelics. Sherbet Head is one of their underrated gems.

Jacquard Causeway, Basefree, Sixtyten, Gyroscope, Oscar See Through Redeye, and Skyliner, Alpha and Omega are for me the tracks that quack my melon harder than anything I have heard haha love these tracks!

Telephasic Workshop as SamuraiDrifter described it, and I always thought 84 Pontiac Dream was mind-bending, as is Telepath and Nothing is Real.

'Telephasic Workshop' by far. It is the definition of mind-bending. The chopped up voices synced together create a harmony and order in the chaotic madhouse of chatter. It's to this day still one of my fav tracks by them. I think I've never tripped as hard sober on this track that one time.

Also, 'You Could Feel the Sky'. It feels like your brain gets wrung out while a divine and satanic sound combined plays in the background.

I know it's probably not the most trippy they did, but for me it has to be The Smallest Weird Number.

That track makes me drift off to weird places, I fucking love it.

I'm pretty sure Jacquards Causeway was written by DMT entities and for that reason it gets my vote.

Seven Forty Seven, the 33rpm version especially has all these bird sounds that come out, as well as that percussive bit that sounds like the wheels of a plane hydraulically coming out (or something like that). blows my mind

the contrasting melodies in Nlogax makes me see green and pink colors and i love the way the stuttering vocals sound. you know it's a human singing, but cannot reproduce it with your mouth.

Staircase Whip and Mansel from the old tunes tapes are pretty mental as well imo

I like your style

Oirectine is one of my favourite tracks, and also one of the most mind bending tracks for me.

Basefree, the choppiness of Telephasic Workshop, Gyroscope, You Could Feel the Sky, Opening the Mouth...they have their own special qualities that send my brain into overdrive

Wildlife analysis, not an unexpected or interesting choice, but the fact it has no notable time signature and yet seems to work its way into the mind perfectly. I think it is the only example of a track that I can think of where the irregular time signature isn't something that makes a track feel slightly "off" as a result.

MHTRTC: Telephasic workshop (obvious)
Geo: Alpha and Omega (mixing loads of global influences with a JMJ vibe)
TCH: Oscar seethrough (one of the most complex tracks they have ever done by the sheere amount and variety of different sound samples)
TH: J Causeway (even though it's one of my least favourites on the album it's by far the oddest on the album, everything else is kinda straight forward)
Anything else: June 9th, Happy Cycling (really eerie oddness)
