As someone who is always fascinated with sample sources from my favorite artists, I was always really perplexed by that vocal sample from The Way U Show. Where is it even from? How could they have access to it? It sounds like it's in another language, how did they grab it? It sounds like an obscure Arabic dance acapella sped and pitched up to infinity, i just don't know how they could've gotten ahold of it. Any help in finding it would be appreciated

i don't think it was pitched up very much, just sped up. Weird that no one who speaks arabic has tried to decipher the lyrics

The second part of the sample is clearly saying "Way ya show" (which finally explains the title for me after all these years lmao), it's possible that the other parts are actually english too but chopped up to the point of being near-impossible to parse.

Also I think I like this slowed down version more than the one on the tape

Im pretty sure its not actually saying 'the way you show', considering how strangely it's pronounced('wei ah shoo') and how foreign the rest of the lyrics are. I think it's way more likely that the title "the way u show" just came out of them trying to find english sounding words in foreign lyrics.

wasn't this just a chopped up earth, wind & fire song? (or maybe kool and the gang, i hear the infamous "woo-hoo!" from celebration)

edit: someone in the youtube comments for an upload of the way you show found a sample for the drums and synths: maybe it takes the vocal samples too?

That is indeed a possibility, any guesses as to what language it is and what's actually being said?

I'm going to go out on a wild limb here and say that I always thought he was saying, "Fake id!" and "Make it very good!" or "Very, very good!" with an Indian accent. Granted, I don't have the best audio set up and I'm not a musician, so what do I know?

First heard this at a barn rave in Lancaster and it sounds so different on a 10k+ SS than headphones/desent hi-fi.

Yeah, well hidden converted barn on a working farm, had a mezzanine and toilet, invite only (back in my dj days) and a bit clique-ish, looked like a crock of shite until I walked in, nice soundsystem, wooden dance floor ...

If I remember rightly, very bassy but not muddy!!
the chap who played it had the rig still low but chose to peak around the low end for most of his warm up, 100% knew the tolerance of the rig (no highend limiter being used as far as I could see, just Amps with x-over) .

Pretty sure that the original/real lyrics are in arabic. The lyrics doesn’t sound english to me, especially when slowed down.

I never really picked up on it being Arabic, mainly due to the quality of the recording, my old ears...and not really liking the track. However, part of the lyrics could be the following:

bay-yin-ii or بيّني

Sometimes I hear bay-yan-ii but the difference would probably be dialectal.

Translated, it would be 'Show me!', also carrying a sense of 'demonstrate to me'.

I'm basing all this on the song title though and trying to find a phrase which bears some resemblance. I could be miles out.

So I tried posting a snippet of it to a translation subreddit and someone on there suggested that it might be Russian. They said that the second phrase might be "я тебя люблю", meaning "I love you".

Correction, it would be an imperative verb.

Translated, it would be just 'Show!', said to a woman.

well it definitely sounds like "я тебя люблю" but with some kind of an accent. like a non-native Russian speaker, maybe?
