Further to us finally finding the children's voices samples from In The Annexe which comes from an obscure album of nursery rhymes from 1983, one of the lines from the In The Annexe sample is "she'll be buried in white" and the "white" sounded familiar so I messed around and came up with this what do you think? I think it's pretty close.

I've made a Youtube video parsing all the information together on the samples discovered from this album!

Great job! I'm so excited seeing all this stuff coming out recently. It's always an interesting time to be a BoC fan

I don't think that's it but it is CERTAINLY very close.

I did some messing about with the soundbyte and the "shape" of the spectrogram by messing with Audacity EQ, (might not the best choice) is quite different.

Yeah, the more I listen I agree. However, the full nursery rhyme from the Annexe sample also has the line "white is alright" and I think the Devil Is In The Details sample might be the word "right" instead of white. I'll mess around with it later.

In my beginner IDM producer opinion (take with a very large grain of salt) I have a feeling the 'right' might be closer to it. I've been checking this post pretty much daily in anticipation. How close do you think you could get it to how it appears in the song? It would be interesting if you could somehow reverse-engineer the steps they took to give us a really close comparison, but I imagine that's super hard and a lot of effort for just one little wah sound

Just an idea but I wonder if the slight pitch problems between the record and the sample is because they were pulling it off the vinyl turntablism-style. It wouldn't be the first time, they've done it with the Earth Wind and Fire samples on MHTRTC. And then sampled and EQd or whatever. Cos the actual... vocal timbre of the sample is closer than anything I've heard and I can totally see how if they had the thing to hand after using the whole bit in Devil Is The Details someone would fixate on that one syllable with the way it drifts about just missing a bunch of notes it's going for.

Ok, so I tried to match it up with the word "right" instead of "white" from the same rhyme. Here is the result does anyone think it sounds closer?

Might just be the hype I’m feeling but I feel you’ve cracked it, and if you haven’t this is an extremely close coincidence
