To be clear: Discussing LGBTQ+ issues in the context of Russia is allowed. What is not acceptable is turning that discussion into mockery, provocation, or labeling each other. That does not contribute to a constructive conversation.

It has also become clear that for some people certain views are so deeply ingrained that a reasonable, good-faith discussion is simply not possible. When that happens, continuing the exchange serves no purpose.

One additional point for clarity: posting images(provocative in this context) or memes may be intended as a statement, but in practice they tend to escalate rather than advance the discussion. In a thread where strong and opposing views are already present, this usually leads to the opposite of a meaningful exchange. This is not about restricting freedom of expression, but about choosing forms of expression that contribute to dialogue rather than provocation.

If this thread starts going down that road again or drifts off topic into side issues rather than a substantive discussion, I will close it.

Let’s keep this focused and constructive, while not losing sight of the human suffering and tragedy at the heart of this horrific war.

In the meantime after posting my previous message, I noticed several posts that consisted mainly of referring to each other rather than the topic itself. I have deleted those posts in the hope that this will be the last time we resort to mutual accusations and name-calling.

It would be a real shame if this were to prevent us from continuing a discussion on an important subject like this.

I'm honestly wondering why European Countries are not focusing on building their own military or bolstering it and establishing a more independent, self determinate gov't or military force in the face of a failing American Empire that only seeks to bolster itself though bullying other countries and making deals with Isreal or Russia to broke some kind of power.

Like Canada tried a big trade deal with China. Why not do that? Why not have European nations bolster themselves through China in order to protect themselves from the potential Balkan Invasion from Russia? There are so many countries that, excluding NATO protections, really can still act and respond to violations and defend themselves.

I just want all these countries to really recognize their sovereignty before waiting for a despondent, innefective America to give the go ahead. Is that fair?

That's happening now. Better late than never I guess? I don't think Russia would win an all-out war with the EU though unless they get China or the US to fight on their side (doubt it, best they can get is confused north korean soldiers), they're having enough trouble chipping away solely at Ukraine without our dear Finns finally having an excuse to join in.

Its mostly an information war at this point, aimed at destroying western progressive values. Why physically fight when you can take over a country without even setting foot in it, purely through propaganda over the internet. That has been paying off way more than their actual fighting. They have amassed a lot of influence through everyone's pocket-demons. Even some people on this very board have been influenced this way.

Western progressive values like the LGBTQ+ community, which they can't seem to stand and want to destroy so bad. We can not let this happen. Everybody should be able to live their lives and love however they want to.
