Why was Boqurant/5.9.78 not included on any studio album?

Surely these two tracks would have fitted onto MHTTC at the expense of two weaker tracks on that album? I just don't get why they would leave them off official releases?

they’re a little simple compared to most of their studio albums, not to say they are bad or ineffective, but not really fitting within the canon of their studio albums.
i feel Sequoia is most deserving of being on MHTRTC

We know that of the unreleased stuff that's leaked some of it was from tapes made for friends. It's possible that any one track that's "good enough" had some special meaning to its intended recipient that releasing it on an album "for everybody" would cheapen it somehow.
You get this with artwork that gets discovered after the death of an artist, or stuff written in letters sent by authors. Why not with musicians too?
But this is just me speculating

My theory on it is that they sound much less glossy than the other tracks on MHTRTC, so could not be used in their known form without standing out, even as extra tracks. Perhaps they tried to re-record them but couldn't get the same vibe; it happens.

Sounds right to me. MHTRTC has a homogenous mood throughout the record. While the tracks have some analogue grittiness to them there's this almost sterile glossiness at the same time. As opposed to Geogaddi which is darker and muddier.
Didn't they make hundreds of new tracks between MHTRTC and Geogaddi or something? Those tracks might've been just as good as what we received but didn't fully fit in with the overall theme

Agreed. Especially the bassline.
