Can conservatives listen to Boards of Canada as well?

I'm mostly apolitical now but was very conservative or reactionary rather during my youth. I didn't have sex, drink alcohol or use recreational drugs. I've always thought young people on the Left do all three of those things in abundance (especially young leftist women). So yeah I was sensible and clean cut, I wore corduroy trousers and I listened to Morrissey.

Can I be a fan of Boards of Canada and electronic music in general?

What an odd question. Why draw such arbitrary lines? You can do whatever the fuck you want.

Haha, I like the characterisation of conservatives as being sensible and clean cut. It’s just about tax breaks and loopholes for the super-rich. But if the political parties focused only on that, only a tiny amount of people would identify with it and vote for it. So to get large amounts of people who are not super-rich identifying with it and voting for it, the rest of the stances on issues need to have broad appeal. So it can be anything since it doesn’t really matter and is amorphous. It can be about wearing corduroy and listening to Morrissey if you want. What tends to be popular is giving us permission to feel good about who we are the way we already do things without any higher principles that would require modifying behaviour. And you can still listen to BOC.

I am a huge fan of Tori Amos and can confirm that there are MAGA Tori fans and I will defend their right to listen to her music until the cows come home, but I can't wrap my head around the cognitive dissonance it takes to listen and love art that is so against what you stand for.

My answer's yes, if that wasn't clear enough, and it sure makes for some interesting conversations and observations.

Should have changed it to a picture of Maggie Thatcher eating an orange. I'm sure that would suffice the average conservative here. Speaking of which, what the fuck does this thread have to do with anything? Is this some attempt to insight political divide here? Go away glowie... unless you can fill us in on where the fuck LP5 is!

Obvious troll. But to be clear, the best thing to do with any conservative is bully them mercilessly.

I began working for conservative Pentecostals in 2018. They treated me better than any other employer ever had. Take that how you will.

I can believe that. It's the new breed of terminally online conservatism that deserves contempt.
