In the new high-quality tape rip of Old Tunes Vol. 2, the track Powerline Misfortune has a short blip in the audio waveform around 9 seconds in. Could this be fixed somehow much like with the Random 35 Tracks Tape?

Huh. Hadn't noticed.

If it is small / quick enough you can probably cut it out with audacity without missing a beat.

Sounds like something from the tape rather than an easy-to-remove digital glitch:

Something like izotope RX might help with it.

This will be easily removed with some automated EQ, so that you're not removing anything time wise, I can do it when I get home from work.

If it’s short enough you may be able to just use Audacity’s Repair tool, that’s how I clean up vinyl pops and clicks.

Also worth mentioning, the DC Offset after the blip is off-centered. So that should be fixed too. It shouldn't be too hard to fix now that we have lossless audio to work with. Let me know what happens.

I was able to do a rough proof-of-concept removal of the blip in Audacity and exported it to WAV 24-bit, same format as the original file. The waveform still needs a lot more work, but it now sounds a little bit better than before!
