for the longest time when I visited our home, Twoism.org, it appeared to me as if in a dream: sharp, firetruck-red design, a picture of a man jumping through space, etc.

lately, it has been a lower-tech blue-on-blue-on-white-on-blue aesthetic. a little more "Y2K" one could say. but feels less polished.

anyone else seeing this or just me ?

by the way (I feel obliged to add) this is not a conspiratorial question in the vein of "does this mean something significant re future developments re Sandison & Eoin" it is purely a recognition that the forum just looks different all of a sudden (ha-ha-ha unfortunately we need this clarification around here. [you may have thought I was one of those "The forum was red and now it's blue ... does this mean The Bros are implying that we all BELIEVE Inferno will be Geogaddi-esque {red} but it will ACTUALLY be Music-Has-the-Right-to-Children-esque {blue}???]).

There's an option to set it in the user control panel. Personally I really dislike the red one!

If I recall correctly, the new theme is easier to use and maintain or something like that as well.

I know our old friend Angel did a lot of work for free designing the red format, but personally I'm in agreement. Time for a refresh Ae?

Customising the theme is by no means easy. Even updating to the latest version is a challenge when it comes to the layout.

Techboy is currently looking into what needs to be done to convert the current design to the very latest version of phpBB. Creating a custom theme requires, first and foremost, a talented designer and ultimately a skilled programmer, or better still… a combination of the two. Angel did a fantastic job back then, but it was quite a task. Simply tweaking or configuring an existing theme is the easiest option, but do we really want a standard forum layout?

I'd personally rather have bandcamp embeds (and smaller youtube embeds) than more themes. Support the artists, not Alphabet.

Emoji reactions like on Keyosc/WATMM (and elsewhere online these days) or some upvote/downvote system would be nice. Just because people often have reactions but don't bother to respond. It's not just some "web 3.0 zoomer crap" but actually relevant information

I felt a bit cheeky pointing this out but I am extremely skilled, young, good looking and self employed software engineer/hacker who has an extreme history with phpBB. I will dust off my XAMPP stack right away! Now, there is a catch. I am most likely going to have to figure out what the fuck is even going with twoism first, so that will involve me having the source code, and their custom MYSQL tablesz if any (no data from twoism actually needed). But, if you trust me to have the source code goodies and give me enough time so I can understand things, I will happily build a new theme before launch day. For freeeeeeeeeee!

The upvoting/liking is definitely something we’ll take on board. Personally, I also like to just show my appreciation with a like sometimes, because a comment or quote might be a bit too much.

@fujee. Money isn’t the issue; otherwise, I would have considered adds on twoism much sooner.
Techboy is helping me host twoism, but he might be open to the idea, partly because he’s devoting quite a bit of his free time to it. Without him, I’d be in a very different position with twoism.
