Time to move on?

I know this may sound crass on a website devoted to BOC, but there are obviously a lot of people who are, for want of a better word 'obsessed' with the band. I can completely understand this and I went through a 6 month period where all I would listen to was their music. It was music that in a way answered questions about myself, and made me think about my childhood, and growing up in Britain in the 70's and 80's, and how it wasn't all bad, I sometimes feel that the music doesn't mean as much to other people as it does to me, but no doubt I am not the only one who feels like that.
But going back to my original point, it is important to remember that there is other music out there. Music is the highest art form, and there is so much amazing stuff out there that so many people need to discover.
Boards will no doubt continue to make music, but somehow I doubt that anything they do will compare with MHTRTC or other early stuff, I was sorely disappointed with The Campfire Headphase, but it made me realise that I had to learn to accept that Marcus and Michael have moved on, maybe I should too.

points taken...people here arent obsessed...this is why the random stuff folders flood over this one and its because people here are gonna talk about warp artsits and every other thing here as well...boc is just one band in my whole arsenal...i play in a punk band and ive found a couple hardcore punk kids here and although i agree that TCH wasnt my favorite...i like it here

We seem to have small problem with that on this forum.
I think all bocs albums have the same level of quality. If boc is into their material and excited about it then I ussually am too. I trust them because reading from their interviews I can see that they strive for quality.
If all the albums sounded like MHTRTC, then how special would that album be? They seem to change it around in a tastefull manner so you keep your craving for the distinct sound of each album.
Genius.

I can't imagine myself listening for 6 months to the same band.

Bibio is crap. I'd actually listen to him if he could just write a coherent song to go with that great degraded sound (not including "Bewly In White").

I don't like Bibio all that much, there's just not enough elements going on in his music. It's pretty (dare I say) boring. For me the more layers and instruments an artist uses, the better. It's nice from time to time but I barely ever listen to him.

i didn't like 'fi' much when it came out... there were a few songs i liked on there.
but 'hand cranked' is truely a step up... the songs progress more rather than just sort of droning like a lot of them on 'fi'. the production keeps that special feeling but is much more accomplished... there's banjo, cello, recorders all throughout it. he even does a vocal on one track which is ACE...
just have a listen to that album the whole way through and see what you think. i was really really pleasantly suprised... i even like 'fi' a lot more after listening to this for some reason.

actually, that was one of my favourites on 'fi' along with 'lakeside'...
and that's what the new album ALL sounds like!

I love Fi on its own terms, but I agree, if he could get some real songwriting together, his music would be SICK.
He's like Kid Koala. His work is cool, but it screams of unrealized potential.
