Anyone here watch Nickelodeon back in the day? By back in the day, I mean the 80's and very early 90's.

I've been on this nostalgia kick recently, and I was digging through youtube trying to find clips of all the old shows from back then. It's always fun.

Shows like Today's Special, Pinwheel, Turkey TV, Count Duckula, David The Gnome, Adventures Of Little Koala, Inspector Gadget, Mister Wizards World, and of course, the greatest show ever, You Can't Do That On Television. It was always a dream of mine to get slimed as a kid.

Seriously classic programming that isn't anywhere to be found these days. Back when Nickelodeon had a soul and wasn't a corporate monster.

I didn't get Nickelodeon or whatnot up here in Canada but I always liked Inspector Gadget...You Can't Do That on Television was good too, but I dont remember much of it.

I believe a lot of the early Nickelodeon programming was produced in Canada. You Can't Do That On Television and Mr. Wizard were definitely made up north.

I saw Mr. Wizard on one of those VH1 I Love the 80's shows (can't remember which year). I was surprised to see him b/c I could have sworn that he was dead!

What was the show that took place in a department store, where all the mannequins would come to life at night, and they'd hang out on the roof of the high-rise?

That was Today's Special. That one guy would turn into a mannequin if his hat was removed. The only way to turn him human again was to put his hat back on and say say "Hocus Pokus Alamagokus!"

Holy fock, Today's Special!! Man I remember that show...it was one of those different ones. When I think of it now it seems very boc...all that TVO/PBS stuff was very boc actually.

yes disavowed you can download them from most p2p programs...not slseek though i beleive...but seasons 1 and 2 are out on dvd

Yeah, picture pages started out as a segment on Pinwheel, and then became its own show... or perhaps it was the other way around.

There used to be a kid at my middle school who has a piece of the Aggro Crag from GUTS.

Agreed. That show was quite bizarre for being on a kids network. That, Salute Your Shorts, and Welcome Freshmen were great early 90's shows.

I never found it particularly scary as a kid. However, there were some entertaining episodes. That one where that girl goes back to the 60's. There was also that one where a kid was trapped in a mall for the night and it turned out the mall was a giant pinball machine or video game or something. That was fun.

That show was great...for a while. I always got a kick out of it though.
