Hey twoism,

I was just browsing some of my old tunes and some of them are so bad it puts a shit-eating smile on my face. So I thought if any of you twoismers who happen to produce and make music would like to lay down some of your earliest shit you've ever made...I'd like to hear it. I'm not talking old like... your last album, I'm talking old like the very first few experimentations you made with your first cheesy sequencer or drum machine. I want to hear Fruit loops beats with volume levels crunched beyond repair. I want hear a mixing disaster or some of the most paper-thin beats to ever flap about. haha maybe thats just the decription of my very first couple of tests. Once i find my VERY first couple of shit files I'll put one up...I just wanted to see if anyone else has their very very earliest attempts.

Ok, I found even more tracks. The following tracks produced with the fun monikers: Juzafreak and DJ Hugo are the oldest of them all. These are made a few years prior to the ones on the previous link. They are also made with a different program.

The Juzafreak ones are made with Rebirth 2.01 by Propellerheads. The DJ Hugo ones are made with Rave Ejay

I wrote this little tune when I was 5 (or something around that) on my first piano. I drawn the piano with numbers on paper.I wished I had the drawing still with me^^ I'd frame it...

This is the oldest peice ever...redone ofcourse

Yes! I love it Fredd-E man. Nothing like sitting back on christmas morning and listening to some oldies. You've got some pretty aggressive hitting shit back in your old days. I'll be stoked to hear everyone's old tunes...I've got mine FOUND on this computer and I'll load some up in the next hour.

Haha at first i missed the "redone of course" part and I was like shit son... cracking beats at 5? insane child. haha nice tune man this is exactly what I was looking for.

This is a great thread idea. I will try to find some cd's laying with some of my old tracks from when I was 15 and 16 using nothing but an acoustic guitar and Windows Sound Recorder. I think my funniest one was when I was 15 I recorded a mental version of "The National Anthem" by Radiohead. I will try to find it

I agree this is a good idea. I'm a newbie but i might have some old guitar tunes on a crusty 4-track with added casio keyboards...Ill see what i can find. Fredde i like your catalogue of old tunes it really reminds me of how i kind of started out sounding. Checked a few of your tunes out joshkowski and I think the first song is priceless! and that synth noise on the boards of canada rip off sounds really really bocish, good job. The beat isn't boc but the synth definitely is...maybe you can try a fake for fun?

The first album, Untitled Disc, was made using Mixman loops, arranged live. With no quantization. It was bad. The only vaguely forgivable song is "hamster on the roof", which was arranged in Mixman's sequencer with melodies written by transposing one-shot samples.

Finding the Elephunk was made entirely in Mixman's godawful baby-eating sequencer. To write a melody in the thing, you have to load a sample or loop and use the Transpose dialog to set each note. Augggggh. For a few songs I used some self-recorded or otherwise acquired samples.

Frunkalicious! was partially written in Mixman and partially in Melody Assistant, which was a more friendly but still horrible (and horrible-sounding) program. It features the classic "Bob Goatse (Was A High School Football Hero)".

Matt Wilsowned was originally planned to be an album entirely composed of midi rock. I wrote many of the songs in Melody Assistant, and others in Reason (<3), which I purchased during the production of this album. I made the mistake of trying to make the Melody Assistant songs sound better by redoing them in Reason, but since I had no idea what I was doing at the time, the results were terrible. It features the classic "Fetus is nice."

Stay Funky And Brush Your Teeth At All Times, though very unpolished still, is the best of all my early releases. It's also the most recent thing I've released to this day. Despite the production being rather amateurish, I'm pretty happy with most of the songs. Highlights include "Stove!", "Go To Sheep", "Breeze", "Heck", and "Tunnel".

Alright folks. Here we go with my first 3 real songs. All were made in Impulse Tracker back in 1999. Almost all samples stolen from other mods, almost no skill whatsoever. However, these were a TON of fun to make and sadly, I was probably more "creative" with samples back in the day than I am now.
