Steganography

I was rumaging through some old threads and I was wondering if there are anymore known secrets that have been seen from examination of spectrogram images...the one thread I saw showed that there was some noise beyond the human frequency spectrum in the song sherbert head...and it turned out that the noise was just the song with the vocals and bass removed...The fellow who found that says he went through the Campfire Headpase and sherbert head was the only song he found to use it...Has anyone else examined any more BOC tracks with a spectrogram program?? I plan to examine all the BOC tracks over the next couple days in search of more of these weird hidden goodies.
above is the sherbert head spectrogram image
humans normly cant hear much above 18khz-20khz

That is really interesting... but even if there are random sounds that we can't hear... do you think this is for a reason? That would be odd... but if this did exist... awesome.

they could be there for a reason...the only way to find out is to bring them down to the audible level and see what they're all about

yea I've seen that picture of himself he put in...I doubt I will find anything like that with the BOC tracks since Aphex did that with software and M&M arent really into use the old computer

well after reviewing all the tracks I could it seems that sherbert head is the only one to make real use of ultra high frequency sound...of course since a few old tunes vol 1 & 2 and BOC Maxima are only accesible in there low bitrate mp3 form I cannot be sure if there could have been anything hidden in them because the frequency range on 192kbps MP3's cuts out anything above 16khz...maybe one day if they release the infamous box set something will be discovered

Well, I think a lot of those old tunes are to old to actually have anything like that in them to begin with.

If it turned out that BoC did do this type of thing knowingly, it certainly would explain why they take so damn long to release an album!

but you know that could easily happen by mistake with old equipment. play a song on myspace and record stereo mix then look atthe spectograph same thing happens.
maybe that particular track in the mix was recorded with a certain technique that caused that.
doesnt mean its not cool - just means it's not very clever. =p

judging from the fact that the signal was clearly intact and that it was modulated by the highest frequency possible by the cd medium (22.5khz) it is fairly clear that this was intentional.
i have to dig up my cd copy of this album and re-extract the music. as i only have the vinyl on hand.

I thought cd was 44.1khz

I think it was intentional for that reason as well. Also they are very precise with the outcome of their sound. If they spend multiple days on a single high hat... every bleep and blip is most likely intentional, whether they be audible or experimentally inaudible to the conscious ear.
anyone remember the A is to B as B is to C specto with the weird man in it?
See pic here
I'm definitely interested in seeing more song spectos, or at least a link to a program where i can do it myself with good quality results.

thats the samplng rate.
it doesnt need to be intentional, i mean, like i say, the modulation on flash audio is also that simply because its the sampling rate.
also yeah what, i can't see a face there personally

weird man? thats far from a weird man.

I'm not saying that it definitely has a weird man. I'm asking if anyone remembers the argument. I think it kinda looks like a guy a little actually.
