ah yes, nice song, i read a little blurb about them a few weeks ago but i hadn't realized that song was theirs. the guy is like an in-demand musician/studio wiz. i wish i could play the piano like that...

She (Inara George) is the daughter of Little Feat's Lowell George, and he looks like the guy from Spoon... kinda'.

"I'm a Broken Heart" is my favorite track. Good stuff. Nice brass.

i finally picked up their album today. pretty chuffed with this actually! really enjoying 'la la la' right now. imo best tune on the album (so far). strange i found it in the rock section of HMV when its under the Blue Note label (which is jazz). thanks for the lead, ross!

Reminds me of another fun band, the Januaries. Same style of retro-poppy tunes although The Bird & The Bee are a little more electronic, & their production is a little cleaner.

I just thought of another great band with female-poppy-catchy tunes: Reverie Sound Revue from Calgary, Alberta. Their debut EP is excellent, (if you like this kind of music). They are releasing a brand new full length very soon...

definitely have to check out this band called the januaries if they sound anything like the bird and the bee. the guy out of BATB has also done extensive work with beck, if you couldnt already tell.

just to let you guys know, the bird and the bee have their new album out called: "ray guns are not just the future". excellent album, would describe as like a more upbeat version of broadcast. worth a listen for sure, just got mine today ^_^

a lot of the song on the album have similar production values and techniques (1st album) but i'd say again and again is probably the most upbeat on the album.
