I saw this on TV a few weeks ago, and managed to track down this link. I haven't downloaded them completely, cos i've seen it, but the divx link at least starts playing, so they seem fine. It's a documentary from a couple of years ago about the BBC Radiophonic Workshop who pioneered some of the really early electronic music techniques. There's some really great stuff here.

I know this stuff influenced loads of todays electronica artists. I think the Aphex Twin put out a compilation of some of it on his label a while back. Anyway, thought a lot of the peeps here might appreciate it.

I saw this on TV too, it's pretty interesting.

I liked the guys definition of a 'golden age' in electronic music- when the technology is advanced enough to let you experiment, but not so advanced that you can just press random buttons and whatever comes out will sound cool, meaning that you have to work to express what you want. seemed very true.

One thing bugged me though; did anyone else noticed that fat bearded git in the background of EVERY single interview scene? What was with that? I thought it was pretty funny because I figured they'd introduce him half way through the programe but no...

Yeah that was very strange. There was also a clock in every one set to the same time, 7.50 or something. Those crazy guys...
