Want to go away for 4 days in june/july with the b/f.
But dont really know where to go.
Anyone here got any good idea's for a short break at all?
In a cheap price range?
Was thinking amsterdam or frankfurt or paris etc, but would like something else. Not london so much cause that would really be just a piss up.
See, its a suprise i'm doing for him. Just cause (such a spa, lol).
Any nice ideas would be super cool!
Thanks gang!!!

trust me on this one, prague! its fairly cheap, beautiful, good food, awesome beer and spirit, lovely architecture, romantic (especially at xmas), and has good clubs. check out radost FX near IP pavlova subway station.

Me and Mrs A_Northern_Soul went to Budapest a couple of years ago, and loved it. It was with EasyJet, so flights were dirt cheap and eating/drinking was really cheap too. Gorgeous city, really cool atmosphere.
Rome is another favourite, but we went for 5 days and could have done with longer. Again, cheap flights and you can eat REALLY well for not much at all (the only bad meal we had was the £££ final night "treat", the best was a little back-street pizza place with 3 courses + wine + coffee with change from 30Euros
Prague? Went there a few years ago for a "blokes" weekend with some mates and had a great time.

I would vote for Berlin. Beautiful city, incredible night life, history, art, culture, friendly people.
Probably my favourite city to visit.

Berlin. ah,,, we went last october for a weekend, your right niknak, Amazing city! would love to go again, but not so soon, would deffo go for longer. even the drive from the small airport to the hotel, i was in awe of the scenery! was just a min walk from CheckPoint Charlie aswell. but the street Checkpoint is on is like one big Brown Thomas! on last day hungover found all the vintiage shops thank god.
But Iceland or Greenland, i must look into that some more. what are these destinations like?

Berlin blew me away. I;ve been three times now and each time the atmosphere and vibe and feel of the place got me. I think people still think of it as industrial and run down and eastern european and grey and boring, when it is such a beautiful city.
Anyway, Prague;s nice too, and really cheap (at least when i was there in '98 or so!). Amsterdam's always worth a visit.
Greenland/Iceland are way up near the top of my list of places i want to visit. I love icy scenery (see avatar). Think they're a bit on the expensive side tho and not really weekend away type places.
Anyhoo, who cares where you go. Doesn't matter, yer in love!

I hear Iraq is quite picturesque during the summer.
There are lots of good places in France other than Paris, especially along the west coast, but virtually all of the restaurants there serve only seafood.

wow, just hearing your guys' experiences makes me want to go to Europe even more. I find it amazing that you can go to a great city like Berlin or Paris just for a weekend. I have great respect for Europeans, it's great that all the countries act like a nation.

I like the cultural, economic and migratory benefits that come with the EU but the thing I dislike more than anything else is the judicial hijacking. No one can vote for the people who make EU laws, and when there is corruption and bad law making, no one can be held accountable.
