I'm a huge fan of electronic music but besides that i'm also interested in all kinds of other music, no mainstream do, what do you all think about that here on Twoism are you all only electronic or openminded for other musicstyles?

very openminded, my favourite band at the moment a death metal band from norway...

second favourite is dj format (rap / mixing)

Electronic/ idm is probably my favorite genre, but I also love trip-hop, indie rock, hip hop, alternative, punk, etc. Pretty much anything but country. I consider myself very open minded when it comes to music.

Glad to here, my favourite album atm is Collisons from Calla, emocore from the USA, a band discovered by Michael Gira from The Swans, i interviewed him once, before the split-up.

Well idd you are, i'm not much of a countrymusic man myself, i like also rap but only old school, my favourite indie band atm is"Editors", i like also industrial, experimental music, jazz, old punk, no wave, ' 60 ska, i stopped buying techno and house in 1992, idm and adm is more my thing in electronics, i also like classic music and opera etc.

I don't like opera.

but I do like.. that kind of evil church music that some metal bands steal extracts from.


also, the main genre of music I hate is

throwaway rnb / pop / rap. ( I mean the type of music you hear on commercial radios and on top of the pops kind of channels)

it annoys me so much that people actually listen to that rubbish

yep your right about that, the today rnb is not rnb at all, and top of the pops is idd rubbish, it used 2 be different but that's a long time ago, i have a show on the only non-commercial radio in Belgium Europe, on nov.1ste we exist 25 years, Radio Centraal 106.7FM,the first record we played on 8am nov.1ste 1980 was:Back To Nature from Fad Gadget a real classic, new wave.

Sorry I'm late, but good lord what a loaded question. I probably could write several pages on my supposed open-mindedness on music, but I'll try to keep it short. My taste in music likely reflects some sort of multiple-personalities disorder that I probably have. A lot of it depends on my mood at the time. On the other hand, I've become a bit of a Warp whore at the moment, so maybe I'm shifting a bit. Either way, Boards of Canada is the undisputed champion on my list.

What kind of music i play always depends what mood i'm in, you say you are a bit of a Warp whore atm? Does that mean the Warp of today or also the early Warp 1989 until now

i'm a bit into warp too (autechre, chris clark, some venetian snares, harmonic 33, ...) and then i love mogwai, do make say think, aim, godspeed you! black emperor, modest mouse, .. hurrah for music

after getting into boc i started listening to folk and trad music a lot more. ppl like fairport convention, comus and vashti bunyan. ive always had a thing for early 90's dance music too like altern-8, rhythm section, inner city, krome and time etc, etc.

boc is the only electronic stuff i listen to really, mostly i listen to old punk and underground hip hop

If you only listen to the electronics from BOC, poor you because there's much more.The best underground hip hop band for me is Dälek, check them out!!!

I think that what I like to listen to boils down to the cream of the crop in any genre save country and opera. For example I don't like rap but I'll listen to Eminem because of his musical talent.

I mainly listen to jazz, european classical, indian classical, other 'world' music, lots of produced electronic, and the Grateful Dead.

Well, I started with Aphex in '99, then moved on to Squarepusher. But it wasn't until I got into BoC that I got hooked and decided to check out the rest of the catalogue. Now I'm into Autechre, Broadcast, Plaid, Chris Clark, Prefuse, Vibert, etc. Lately I've begun to finally branch out a bit, looking at Rephlex, Skam, and now delving further underground. As far as the early stuff, I guess I need to check out that Warp10 Classics album because I'm not too familiar with the older stuff beyond a few LFO and B12 tracks.

Hmz, Meshuggah, Tool, Amon Tobin, Audiobullys, The Prodigy, C-mon & kypski, Coldplay, A Perfect Circle, Gorillaz, In Flames, Jagga Jazzist, Queens of the Stoneage, Royksopp (old album, new one kinda sux :/ ), St. Germain, Team Sleep, The Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Doors, The Chemical Brothers... some pop from time to time

Well you should go beyond Warp10 Classics because there's alot for you about the Warp label to discover!
