I'm looking to get some new tunes and I figured this community would be the best qualified to help me discover some. To give some background into my taste in music I'l list some artists I enjoy...
+ Boards of Canada (obviously)

+ Aphex Twin
+ Tool
+ Sigur Ros
+ Godspeed You Black Emperor!
+ Nine Inch Nails
+ Explosions In the Sky
+ Primus
+ Mum
+ Radiohead
+ Ulrich Schnauss
+ The White Stripes
I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks Aesthetics, I thought I'd add that Im not necessarily looking for BOC clones so to speak. I'd savor any musical suggestions regardless of genre.

That's why I also suggest to take a look on the Last.fm pages of some of us. You might even consider to sign in there because I can guarantee you that it helps to find artists that are up in your alley!

Anyone know of any kind of P2P program or anything similar that has a wider access to more obscure artist in comparison to say Limewire or Bittorrent. Or is there possibly a community that has more obscure IDM/Ambient/Industrial/Soundscape torrents? I keep reading of splendid artist but find their music hard to track down, for purchase or not.

I'm listening to a lot of Efterklang atm, they might be up your street- nice post-rock mix of subtle electronics, vocals, strings and conventional instruments. Not entirely dissimilar to Múm, who you listed, although a bit more sombre-sounding
