someone has posted in a boc community forum that they have "play by numbers"

they have also posted their soulseek username, which supposedly has it shared, they aren't on too much, but when they are i intend to at least check this out... not any fakes of this album that i know of, and if this is, it'd be the first

i REALLLY hope this is true, but it won't get me down if it's not, been looking too long to care

anyways i intend to use this thread to let you all know, and post a yousendit when i get it (fake or not, i'll let us ALL be judges of that)

hopefully it won't be too long! also someone supposedly has a real hooper bay.. but too many fakes, if by a long shot it is real, i will provide here, but i doubt it

anyways no flaming please! we are all boc fans in desperate hope of finding old releases, i know you want them as much as i do... have a positive outlook!

cheers mates!

Yeah, I saw the exact same thread and I've also been waiting for him to come back on soulseek with no luck.
At least with two of us watching there's less chance of missing him!
I'm always on the lookout for the old stuff but I'm not that optimistic to be honest. On the other hand I did find a short clip of Seward Leaf (1:12) today that sounds quite convincing.

Frankly, I think dude is full of shit. I'm starting to think only Boc themselves actually have these old releases. It's kinda starting to piss me off to tell you the truth. Why don't they want us to hear these? Do they even exist? Why re-release Twoism and Hi Scores but not Pb#s, etc? And why do fucking morons rip fake versions of these tracks on soulseek to fuck with people? Maybe we will see these one day, but my patience is wearing thin. :x

Edit- Sorry if you consider this flaming. Nothing against anyone on here, I'm just sick of getting temped by all this stuff only to be let down.

i also read somewhere (i cant remember where) that boc are the only people to have these old releases. heres a conspiricy theory for ya... do they even exist at all? we only have hexagon suns word for it. i believe in my heart they do exist. but id say its a pretty good way of stirring interest in your music. the extracts could have been created themselves just for the purpose of being leaked deliberately so as to make people assume they did exist.
NOTE : everything printed above is most likely utter BS so please nobody scream at me for it.

Give it up

Ok you lot, I can tell you, there are NO copies of Hooper Bay, (apart from the extracts from an old website), and there are definitely no copies of Acid Memories, Catalogue 3, Closes Vol.1, or Play By Numbers. And going on what one of my contacts has said, there will never be any apart from the ones that exist on the dozen or so copies that were originally pressed.

we know that though, but the question is, who has all of these releases?

I agree - why do people bother posting fake tracks? Maybe the rumoured BOC boxset will deliver the goods one day.

Hey, does anyone know who originally leaked 'Boc Maxima'?

The FLAC rip kind of comes from Sean Booth from Ae. He gave his tape to some guy, then that guy gave that tape to some other guy, etc etc and it finally ended up in Russia.

could just be marketing to give huge back story. there was all kinds of 'mystery' surrounding the band back then. made even more interesting to think there was more stuff out there we'd never hear.

I've always kind of though the album covers were just for fun.

my buddy and i do it all the time.

So how do you explain the previews?

Having to resort to making up 30 second previews for fictional releases makes no sense when you're prolific enough to have 2 cassettes filled up with old tunes that aren't even acknowledged in your early discography (3 if you count R35TT).

Though it's not official, I like to think that all the guitar songs on R35TT are excerpts from Play By Numbers. I also think that Audiotrack A10 might be cut from Wouldn't You Like To Be Free?. It has a mellow start and then leads into the snippet that we currently have, or vice versa.

Also, giving a friendly reminder that this video is still up.
