Sure, their loud and obnoxious sound is a far cry from BoC, but I would challenge anyone to sit still through their set.

I saw them last night for the first time. Pretty incredible shit. They definitely know how to work a crowd into a frenzy.

As I was walking away at the end I was describing it to my friends as though I had now completed something that would be akin to anyone who was devoted to one form of art, or even science, and seeing or doing something that was so important to their field that they felt more complete in a way. For example, like an astronomer witnessing a supernova or a geologist finding a rare rock. To me, Daft Punk is my rock or supernova. I wouldn't call myself the biggest fan, just someone who appreciates what they do.

Seeing BoC live would create the same feeling.

I made the trip to their show at Red Rocks last week.

Best show ever.

Being in the mountains, overlooking the city lights of Denver, giant red full moon hanging in the sky.. ROBOT ROCK HUMAN.

to be honest, i really like them aswell. they're a great band. but i was ever so slightly dissapointed when i heard the sample for 'harder, better, faster, stronger' all they did was add a vocoded vocal.

Yeah I really liked their Discovery album, but then I saw how little of their own work it was. It was just like reusing old disco songs into disco-house songs. But tracks like Veridis Quo and Short Circuit are great.

First CD I ever bought was Daft-Punks Homework. First CD ever owned was Discovery

I never liked them combining disco and house. Can't stand it.

I'm a pretty big fan of Homework and Discovery, but i bought Human After All and thought it was really disappointing. Good to hear these guys can put on a stellar show though.

the vicious circle of plagerism. the only original part of the daft punk track is sampled and used as the main back drop for another artist's song. don't mind kanye west though. he has some good tunes.

didnt someone go through and figure out all the samples they use in all their songs....atleast thats what i heard on a program on NPR a couple weeks ago...it was all about the evolution and the nature of sampling...


they are one act i havent seen live, but would LOVE to....

Can you believe though that I sold my copy of Homework when I was in high school? Didn't like it at the time. Of course I had a crappy stereo... that decision ranks right up with my decision to sell Led Zeppelin IV because I didn't like it at the time.

in fairness, Justice are a lot like daft punk, but also a lot better and they didn't sample anything for their debut album 'cross' which i think is fookin' amazing.

Ha! I thought about posting the exact same thing today. I'd like to add that it's a combination of Daft Punk & Jackson and His Computerband which influenced them.. at least, that's what I hear.
