There have been a few upgrades added today, as the news block already gave away.



News Block:
This news block will be used for site announcements which doesn't belong in one of the forums. My goal is to keep it up for a week or so and then it'll disappear until there is news again.

Myspace profile button:
Given that a lot of members are having a myspace page I though that it would be nice to add this option. Note that you only need to fill in your Myspace User Name and not the complete URL.

Online/Offline indication:
Underneath the avatar, the userprofile and memberlist is an indication of who is online and who isn't.

Wiki BBCode:
This BBCode will come in handy as Moebius suggested the other week. By highlighting a common BoC term and clicking the "wiki" button (or by manually adding the [wiki][/wiki] BBcode), you will be able to easily and directly reference Fredd-E's excellent BoC wikipedia in your posts.


Please use this topic to discuss the use of it and report any possible bugs.

The wiki feature is great...but is there a way to remove the capital-letter/underscore sensitivity?

Yeah there is, i think. But it cannot be done by the wiki addon itself. Because when i do this [wiki]boards of canada[/wiki], the url in the address bar looks like this: http://fredd-e.narfum.org/wiki/Boards_of_canada. This happens after you are redirected:
[wiki]boards of canada[/wiki] (watch the url).

I think the wiki should not distinct capitals or change letters into capitals, for the sake of ease of use.

Unfortunately not. The wiki articles are always case sensitive.. besides you don't have to type the underscores BUT you have to use the correct capitalization in your words else the wiki code links to another article.

The offline dots still look out of place to me..

The [wiki] bbcode mod can be adjusted so that every first letter of every word within the bbcode, can be capitalized. If the wiki itself got all articles like this, the problem is solved for 100% of the cases. This is because an input can be changed to lowercase and then to first letter uppercase. In this way the wiki always works, but it may not be beautiful to everyone: Boards Of Canada.

It can also be done differently, all words lowercase.

all lowercase would be preferable to all caps. makes it easier for typing in urls manually as well.
