i just watched Holy Mountain last weekend, my initial WTF was fortunately replaced by a conclusive WOW

it's all metaphysics son! i remember the first time i saw holy mountain i didn't know what to think about it really. i ended up doing a lot more reading on metaphysics and the occult, and now a lot of the imagery and themes seem to make a lot more sense.

Alejandro Jodorowsky is a an amazing human being.

A buddy and I watched The Holy Mountain in a theater that allowed beer drinking. Good times. Very strange film.

Excellent! I saw it in a night club recently. Very bizarre. The whole night was dedicated to Holy Mountain. Olof Bjorn Dreijer from The Kinfe was playing under the name Oni Ayhun dressed as a woman and there was a man with sand paper on the bottom of his shoes walking over a bed of matchstick heads. I shit ye not.

The first week when I moved to my little community out in the woods we had a movie night and watched Holy Mountain. Great memories of use all piling into the cabin loft to watch that.

It was an incomparable experience, with amazing people. I miss it every day and can't wait to get back to that life.

Is there a way we can edit the title of this thread? They've spelt Jodorowsky wrong and it's annoying me a bit more than it probably should

It's in the middle of the track that starts around 15 minutes into it.

"You are excrement; you can change yourself into gold". There's also a clip of the random screaming from either Holy Mountain or El Topo thrown in there. Both are amazingly weird movies. I was never able to get into Santa Sangre though...

Related: anybody ever heard the track Montana Sacra II by Bardo Pond? Pretty much takes a line from El Topo and bases the whole track around it.
