Achieved a lifelong ambition of getting played on Radio 1 last night. Okay, so it was at 3am on the
Mary Anne Hobbs show but it still counts.
To celebrate, we've put a new track up for free download -
The Unexplained.
The title comes from a magazine that Andy and I used to read in the early '80s, detailing all kinds of paranormal phenomena. The article on spontaneous human combustion terrified my pre-teen mind and still haunts me to this day.
Enjoy.

Sweet.
Oh and congrats on the Radio 1 play. No small thing, no matter what time it came on.

Do you still pick up "Fortean Times"? Still think it's the best magazine out there..
And congrats

I liked it, but in comparison with your other songs, I'm not sure it constitutes a single. It just doesn't stand out in any way.

I have to second that. It's probably the reason why I forgot to make a comment about it.

Possibly "single" was a bit misleading. It's more a taster of what we're doing at the moment. The Mary Anne Hobbs appearance happened quite suddenly, and we felt like putting something new up for download. We've got more immediate/layered/faster tracks in production, but "The Unexplained" is one of the first we got close to finished. I'm used to hearing it in the context of an album (third track at the moment).
Could have made it available via Myspace I suppose, but I've really gone off it as a site. Ended up with some hacked comments postings that I can't get rid off. Makes the whole thing feel a bit grubby.
