Convincing and well put together though that was, I'm still convinced that modern capitalism is fucking the environment up royally.

Maybe that HAARP-thing is to blame. Changing the environment. They can even produce earthquakes and volcanos!

What's wrong with people fighting against the global warning message??
I'm not going to argue wether global warming is forced by humans or not. A fact is that this is happening at this very moment and also very fast!
As I said before.. true or not, start to care about this planet for christ's sake!!
Why dragging people into this thought? What's the setup? To be proved right? So they are free to do what they want and waste as much as energy etc as possible?
Just a comment of that page..
cas (19/11/07):
Don't we all love Spring & Summer, and hate winter - so then what about summer all year round - isn't that a good thing!! What a mindless hulk, seems like he doesn't have a clue what will happen after this "summer"

No, global warming is a lie. Is the earth warming up? Yes! Does that mean the end of it? By no means!
You know, the earth warms up and cools down all the time. In denmark they found eggs from seaturtles from a couple of hundred years back. These turtles only lay eggs in a tempature above 35 degrees celsius. This means it was way warmer a couple of hundred years back. Was it the end of the world? No!

I think you're a bit off the mark there cupz. What purpose does a lie like that serve to people like Nicholas Stern (of the
Stern Review) or governments the world over who by their very nature have a large vested interest in things staying as they are?
There has been a pretty wide scientific consensus that carbon emissions cause the atmosphere to warm for over twenty years, whereas change-denial science is a relatively new phenomenon, perpetrated by a bunch of cynical quacks who receive funding from oil and heavy manufacturing concerns. We saw a similar thing when unrefutable scientific evidence linked smoking to cancer- effectively a manipulative marketing campaign to put off the facts for as long as possible.
Seriously, what does
anyone have to gain by creating a lie like that? On this, as with most other things, follow the money and you'll find out what the real truth is.

You once again totally missed my point Cupz.
I won't argue with you about it at all because we share a total different opinion about this. An internet discussion won't change my mind at all. My only point here is that we, as a human race should stop fucking up nature whether it has an instant consequence or not.

if it's any consolation to anybody, human history is rife with this exact thing. people have been INSISTING that the world is going to end in their lifetime since way before Jesus, for all kinds of different reasons, which all seemed as damning and megalithic as global warming - many of them worse, and far more certain.
i ain't saying it's not going to happen, i'm just wondering why everyone has to act like this shit is the hottest toast ever toasted. as for the apocalypse, after several eons of crying wolf, I just have a hard time believing any human being who says "it's all gonna be over! everything will change forever! We're all screwed!" because they've been drudging it up in waves of popularity since forever.
my experience with humanity since global warming became a public issue has caused me to care less and less about the implications, gradually, the more i see people bare their banal, ugly, stupid side the instant global warming comes up - on both sides of the issue. and i'm not talking about any specific behavior, but the instant anyone -starts talking- about global warming, i start having a hard time fighting the urge to want to see a hot bucket of shit drop on them.

The problem isn't just a warming of our planet. The problem is that there are more human beings here now then at anytime in history. The idea here is that with natural resources dwindling every bit becomes extremely important. With the warming of the atmosphere comes changes in weather patterns. Nature's checks and balances system breaks down. Large scale drought (which we see happening), more powerful storms, air quality, etc. the list goes on. The simple fact is that the planet will be fine, we on the other hand may not. We (I'm guessing) here on this board have never lived through drought or a time when food is extremely sparse. These could be the horrors that await our race. We also need to remember there will generations to come and we must leave them a future.

it seems like a lot of people these days are going with the "global warming isn't real" view, not because they believe it, but because it's different, and thus makes it hip. in my opinion, I know global warming is real. I can look outside and see it, and I've noticed it especially in the last 10-15 years. I can see changes in wildlife, warmer winters, birds that don't migrate. in my opinion this is because of human activity. our atmosphere is very fragile and while it is true that the earth has become warmer than usual during the last couple of years, the carbon emissions of the atmosphere haven't been this high. there is scientific data to back that up. I think everyone owes it to themselvs to watch "An Inconvenient Truth." it really opened my eyes to a lot of whats going on around the world. peace

I wasn't even searching for this but this video represent my view totally. I tried to make a statement but this guy totally hit the nail on the head by giving a presentation about this subject. There's no single flaw in his argument at all.
Watch this and speard it around to stop people like Cupz from making it a trend.

insteresting video, although I don't think it's as black and white as that, I'm in agreement. anyone who doesn't believe that something isn't happening to earth, wether it be global warming or not, I think needs to look a little deeper. and why spread around the "global warming isn't real" thing? there really is no point; or motive behind it besides money.

I placed some bombs in your house..
Give me one million dollars or I'll detonate...
There is a chance its true or not,but lets make a graph...
If its true...well...you die
if its not...you lose some money.
What will you choose? (I can give you my bank account if you want)
