I wonder... why weird numbers? And why the smallest one? Why do they avoid the word "Seventy"? They never use it, and the French theory is not so consistent because it seems they'd rather use "The Smallest Weird Number" or any other name rather than "seventy". However it's obvious they don't want to avoid the number itself, and it's an important number for them.

I wonder, too, why is the track Sixtyten so disturbing? I think it's pretty much their scariest track, even more so than Gyroscope or The Devil is in the Details. I can never sit through it! I'd say it's their only truly creepy track, rather than just weird or disturbing when you listen to it closely.

The track "The Smallest Weird Number" is also very weird, as if there was something very wrong with it, kinda like a sad version of A is to B as B is to C...

for me, "The Smallest Weird Number" is the only truly scary track on Geogaddi...it sounds fine, but something is very sinister about it.....it always sounded like melting to me.

The part from 3:49 onward is the scariest, especially the break at 4:56.

sixtyten has always been one of my favourite boc tracks. it's packed like a suitcase full of off strange and twisted stories.

the devil is in the details is...i cant explain...lets just say its so much more than just a 'song'.

The Devil is in the Details creeped me out so much the first time I heard it, it really sends shivers up my spine. There is something deeply sinister about the way the words are twisted, warped, and hidden beneath the track... I can't listen to it at all when I am high, it gives off such weird vibes. It makes me very paranoid that I am subconsciously absorbing something I should not, haha

if you look at the 'lyrics' fot DIITD, it's actually a safe, inspiring piece of music imo.

I think thats just part of it. Its just a very abstract experience to feel very disturbed by the sound, but still getting a positive hypnosis on top of that...

they've always been using math and numbers in their music.....why they picked the number 70 is beyond me

hmm weird... ive never really thought of sixtyten in a scary way. but now that its been brought up, its creeping me out!

Ive always looked at it as one of the darker songs on MHTRTC, but its never really had the same effect on me as say House of Adin Adab for instance, which i consider to be one of the scariest songs ive ever heard.

i also find songs like the smallest weird number and a is to b as b is to c to be creepier and harder to listen to. but thats geogaddi for you.

But yeah back to sixtyten, after that backwards speech at around 3:36 it really takes a weird turn for the dark side.

AND THIS IS WHY I LOVE BOARDS OF CANADA. I have listened to MHTRTC an absurd amount of times and i am still finding new things

Also, I think Happy Cycling is pretty scary. I never figured out what that sound was.. the sound which sounded like the sound of a mule in its death throes..

sometimes the creepiest things are those that present a suspiciously innocent message on the surface.

Technically its "house of Adin'Adab," its one of their old songs, from old tunes vol.1 and a few old tunes.
I always thought of that sound in happy cycling as a seagull being echoed.

the happy cycling thing just sounds like turntable warble scratching to me. i've made sounds like that with my brother's turntable before.
