I'd like to set up a time laps camera, but I don't have one... Someone here should record it if you have the resources.

It's happening right now. And it looks amazing. Some drugs would make it all the more trippy..but alas

Everyone check it out! 8)

i climbed a tree and sat there with a pair of my dads binoculars. i became mesmerized by the clouds which continually obstructed the moons view. its such a silent night...and yes, that was beautiful!

edit: it's visible again...i'm back off outside. x

You can really sense the fact that the moon is a giant orb when it's in eclipse mode. You can also sense the depth between it and the stars beyond a lot better. It's really neato.

I just saw it! Pretty cool, and you're right, it gives the moon more depth, some dimensions...

Woot! :D I managed to sneak outside during work, and while inside, I hid near a window and watched it. Glorious! It wasn't a total eclipse here in Ontario as Harpoon Dodger can back me up with, but glorious non-the-less...

I checked music70.com as soon as I got home to see if the bro's updated their site with news... no dice... :( Ah well, I'm sure they are polishing off some wicked new tunes and listening to them as they gander a few meters away from the bonfire to see the moon better.

Not quite total this time, but for our N.American friends, this one looks especially interesting due to the low position of the moon in the sky. Should appear magnified. RED MOON PARTYx10?!?

The article says the reason for the magnified moons at low angles is not understood. I always thought the reason was atmospheric, like, light diffraction is different when you're looking through that much more atmosphere? I don't know.

I'd always assumed the same. Guess it's not that simple then? Always looks amazing though.

Oh, did I mention I'll be heading to a certain locale well-known to our Twoism regulars to see this tonight?

Red moon party anyone?!? ;-)
