Hey guys, I'm currently working on a boc inspired screenplay. It will involve boc music and recreations of interviews and several famous photos. The two main characters are electronic musiscians and very similar to Marcus and Michael.

I'm having some problems with the development of the story and characters though so I came here to get some tips from fellow boc fans.

Just tell me your favourite things about boc or something you really would like to see in a film about them. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Would be nice to see the brothers in some woods wearing wizard's robes and performing some ceremony with an old synth.

BoC's story is interesting in that although their fans have over-inflated their mystique, they have retained remained calm, not let it get to their heads, and kept on being the artists that they truly are. Whenever they've heard the rumors about them being satanists, or Hexagon Sun being a cult, it's always been very strange to them. The meaning that their fans have derived or projected onto their music has almost never lined up with how the brothers really feel about it. I think it's been as weird for the Sandisons as it has for us, and that sort of really adds to their appeal and puts them on a different level from other artists. It's like once you understand them, you sort of join them in this little bubble outside the rest of the world.

That's what a BoC story would be like in my mind.

I'd like to see a film about them as youngsters in the mid 80s trying to make music. The making of AFOT. Them as kids just exploring outside all over rural and urban areas, always carrying a tape recorder of sorts with them, recording everything.

A short story could be: They hear a sound that they really want to record, but due to a crappy old recording device, they have to get closer. Getting closer means breaking into a factory, or some old man's junkyard protected by dogs. (Could even make one of the dogs Xentrix, who helps them lol) In the end they manage to record the sound and make an amazing song that they just chill out to in the woods with an old boom box in a tree.

Not that the idea is completely outlandish (there's plenty of music docs made), but this kinda sounds like a wind-up to me...

I just noticed your name shponglization. Fan of Simon Posford obviously? You are a friendly stranger here, but perhaps a lone deranger elsewhere? (did you get my posford pun?)

That's not a bad idea.

Yeah, Well I'm more into the Younger Brother and Shpongle-projects but Hallucinogen's got some really nice stuff as well.

Hehe no man, the script isn't nearly half finished but I've got some really nice ideas coming from all you guys here so hopefully it will be finished before the summer.

Yeah I agree, if one's gonna make a film/script of the boc-story you really got to make sure to emphasize their isolation and mystique. The only problem is transforming these themes into scenes

Cool! My script is mainly focused on the adult sandisons but maybe some flashbacks scenes could be appropriate somewhere in the script? I'm definitely gonna consider this.

Also really cool idea! Maybe it could work really well as a philosophical scene between everything else that's going on. As a break in the story for example.

I plan on having several of these "philosophical" scenes where the sandisons are doing something. For example I thought that photo where they are by the ocean could work really well as a scene where they record some ocean/nature sounds but perhaps later they are being interrupted by some people outside of their "bubble".
