I was just discovering artists like Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers and the Prodigy... mostly via the Saint soundtrack, and I couldn't believe it at the time.

It would be 4 more years before I'd find BoC.

10 years ago I was finishing work on the PS1 version of Duke Nukem. God, that makes me feel old!

I was in year 6 of primary school. You don't realise how awesome being a kid is until you're not one anymore. Anyone hear MHTRTC on release? Memories of first listen?

10 years ago I was discovering artists like Orbital, Autechre, Plaid, Aphex Twin, LFO, Reload, µ-Ziq, The Future Sound of London, The Orb, The Black Dog and so on. The more IDM-ish artists crossed my path because I rent CDs like The Dream Injection series and copied them with a 1 speed CD writer at a friends house. This series connected me to a lot of artists from the Warp roster and that's how I ended up listening to Boards of Canada - MHTRTC.

I now realize what the impact is to my current listening behaviour from samplers/compilations like The Dream Injection, The Future Sound of Jazz, Wasted, In Order to Dance, The Positiva Ambient Collection, Skampler, 0161 and the Artificial Intelligence series. 90% of my current music collection is music that I discovered over the last 10 years...

i was 11...and, err...prfft...i don't know.

I was 13 and I spent my days doing nerdy stuff such as programming, making demoscene music and IRCing. One day I was in a demoscene channel on IRC, and someone pasted a link to a webcast. I clicked it, and heard Wildlife Analysis through my speakers. I didn't like it at all. 7 years later I heard it again (through friends) and could appreciate it more . Not sure if it was exactly 10 years ago, but it must have been around that time.

I was heavily pregnant and wishing I was at Bugged Out with all my mates taking large amounts of E and getting stoned but instead was sensibly sitting at my mothers and eating marmite and bananas...and listening to music!

But it must be said, a few years later, at Bugged Out, I met this bloke and thanks to him I first heard BoC so happy memories.
