The best concert I have ever been to. I met some radiohead fans that have been to 60+ shows, and they said that was the best radiohead show they had ever seen. I havent been to 60 shows but I can not disagree with them. I was front and center against the rail right in from of thom yorke. The quality of each song was superb. The band was on top of their game and the crowd was so into it. You could tell the band was so blown away by the energy it was uncanny. I had never seen Thom yorke look so happy. I have also never seen him cry and he did during nude. I had a moment with each of the band members...nothing more then a wave and nod and they waved and nodded back. As if i was telling them thank you for providing the soundtrack to my life since creep came out. They had Burial palying to filled the gaps from the time liars left the stage as the opening band. It mixed in nicely with the glitched out electronic intro they played as the band came on which was a hell of a treat. I cried when they first came out and I cried during fake plastic trees and other choice songs. I laughed when thom heckled a heckler, and I danced my ass off to idioteque and national anthem. I headbanged like i was at fucking metal show when paranoid android kicked in. Jonny just took over the song. The music just took over me. All in all it was a complete night and one of the best times I have ever had. I am still buzzing from the exprience. It was more than just a concert for me. It was a spiritual experience.

We had to leave after the first 30 minute encore. How long did they end up playing?

Yup I saw them in Tampa just a week or so ago. It was the same-mind-blowing. If anything, my complaint would be that they were too good. It sounded like the CD, but loud, ha. That's not all bad though!

Did they have those sweet bars in the background that lit up all cool-like?

yeah the lights are some of the best i have seen.

they've improved their sound live to near perfection, it's amazing how accurate they can be lately.
I have a dichotomy here, on one hand I want live performances to be faithful to the studio version but, on the other hand I think slight to moderate variations, if well done, just help the songs to get rid of constrictions and develop their potential.

Totally agreed-couldn't have said it better!

I saw them the night before in Houston. I was out in the lawn and i danced with my friends the entire show. Idioteque, National Anthem, and The Gloaming all took on new life.
Did Jonny play the FM radio on top of the National Anthem and Climbing Up The Walls? For some reason hearing a Toyota commercial and a tejano station blaring on top of their music was the highlight of the concert for me

listening to 'worrywort' at the moment, a b-side to 'knifes out' - incredibly beautiful stuff.

that show was so awesome that I'm thinking to go to the california shows. don't know how I'll afford them though, but I need to see them again.

Was that the homecoming gig where it pissed down all day? Great set from them but took me hours to dry out afterwards.

Seeing them in London next month and then Amsterdam. Seemed like a good excuse for a holiday.

looking forward to seeing them in Glasgow at the end of june. Haven't seen them since 1996!!!!

Lol - I was there man. I remember everyone looking up at the sky during the breakdown in Paranoid Andriod. It felt like we were all tempting fate as 45,000 sang "Rain down, rain down on me" as these biblical black clouds hovered overhead. Then Thom's swamped Rhodes dying during the opening bars of Motion Picture Soundtrack. "It iz kaput, ya?!?". They had no choice. They HAD to encore with Creep then - which I would usually hate, but somehow, in Oxford that afternoon - it just worked. Happy days...

They're magic live, aren't they. I've seen them a couple of times, both around the time Hail to the Theif came out. Glastonbury 2003, with the "UFOs" was pretty special. I think I was levitating that night (weed and tequila from 9am - just say no kids) andlater that year managing to make Newcastle Arena (worst. venue. ever.)feel really intimate.

they're coming to pittsburgh in a little while, really hope i can catch them.
