I'm Palestinian, means nothing to me either.
I think all independence days are cheesy to an extent.
If we have our own countries *Palestinians*, I think I'd be enjoying independence day for 5 years approx.. then it would be routine-ish and repetitive..

Suspiciously, I'd listened to 4th Of July by Soundgarden this morning before realising the date.

It means more than you'd imagine, even for non-Americans. Arguably, it influenced the French Revolution a great deal and few people would wish to diminish the significance of that event, if only symbolically. Not only that, the American Revolution was a big blow to the British Empire.

Actually...it's being released tomorrow, the 5th. I'm releasing it on my birthday
I'll make a post with a link in the thread that already exists for Aviation Weather in This Random Sound when that happens.

I can't believe that we could develop a virus that was compatible with computers from a far off world.

That's not even taking into consideration that Jeff Goldblum wrote the virus.

Happy birthday America!
Been to New York about 3 times in the past, amazing place. The people are so fucking nice, it's untrue! Hell, even the homeless men are decent, one of them came up to me and said ''Yo sir, you got $10?'' i reply ''Sorry, i haven't, no'' and he goes ''That's alright man, that's alright, happy holidays'' *shakes hand*
I was like, wow, what a nice guy. The Virgin megastore in Times Square is great too (not sure if it's still there?) Had quite a big dance/electronica section, and you could actually listen to any albums you wanted on this computer screen, so i typed in Squarepusher, selected Hello Everything, and i was enjoying it!
A lot of Luke Vibert's tracks under the moniker, Kerrier District remind me of my time in New York, especially the track titled
Realistique.
